The story sounds like BS to me. Ed's ears have to be fucked.

In Ed's case... the joint blocks used in a 4x12 cabinet would only represent less than 2% of the wood volume overall. Then compare the wood density between the birch blocks -vs- the plywood and their ability to affect noticeable audio variations in tone... I'm not buying it.

Actually the variation in a specific sets of 4 - 12 inch speakers could account for a noticeable tone variation itself... without the cabinet wood being a factor at all. If this blind test had been performed with a single set of speakers, with no changes to the wiring and just transferred from one box to the next... then I might believe Ed could hear a difference. I suspect the results could not be reproduced consistently though...

Well yeah, a fresh outta the package battery vs. a nearly dead battery...but say, Energizer vs Duracell?

Screw a Duracell or an Energizer. Eveready is THE battery.

I have Deluxe Vibrators coming in this week...super high powered ones that are powered by a deep cycle marine battery. They'll either get you off or shake your teeth right out of your head. And...if you order now...20% off!!

Well, when you fix up one of those Rabbits on a Marine Battery, then we'll talk. Until then, me and the H-mistress will be just fine. Despite the 20% off.

I only know of Hitachi for their hard drives.

And no, that is not an innuendo.

Yeah... the difference isn't only the brand name. They use different chemical combinations internally and each variation has a very different performance as far as the amount of amp load the battery can sustain over time and perform.

My experience with electronic cigarettes has taught me that all batteries even though they may be the same size, shape and voltage ratings... they can vary in chemical composition (ICR, IMR & Hybrids) and amperage draw... for example 18650 rechargeable Li-On's can vary from a 4 amp load max up to a 30 amp load. Important to know... if you push them beyond their operating limits... the chemicals become unstable and the damn things can explode...
