I think it was Yes. My first concert t shirt was a Ted Nugent Weekend Warriors shirt I bought at The California World Music Festival in 79. After that I think most of my concert t shirts were purchased in the parking lot on the way into a concert. The kind that's huge when you buy them and shrink so much the first time you wash them they'd only fit a child.

Mine had the cover of Led Zeppelin 1.
Sorry Kristy.
Stay Frosty, muthas!
An iron-on of the solo Ace album cover from '78.
I think my first shirt was a Doobie Brother's tour shirt.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!
Bootleg 79 tour VH T-Shirt. Still have stored away.
Ha! I thought you were pulling my leg. Yes, Ace Frehley. I think I still have the actual shirt. Hoarding shit from your youth gets tough as you get older. The more you think about how you can't take any of this shit with you when you go, the easier it becomes to sell, chuck or give shit away.
But memories last a lifetime!
Iron Maiden, Number of the Beast tour.
My 1st 2 t-shirts were ordered from a dodgy advert in "Sounds" magazine. AC/DC Highway to Hell shirt, and the classic VH logo shirt. £3.35 each plus p+p. Arrived in the post from U S of A 10 days later, a full month before my 1st concert. VH Glasgow Apollo 18th June 1980. Bought the VH one especially for my big day. Wore it with pride for a full week when i got it, then thought i'm going to get this washed and put away so i can wear it to the gig. Needless to say after that 1st wash, my 4 year old sister had a new t-shirt to wear and i never got to wear it ever again. And the band arrived in Glasgow so late that there was no merchandise available at the gig AC/DC one went the same way.
I think my first was a Rush shirt from 78. I don't remember tbh...

Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!
Rolling Stones 1981 tour.
no, that's not my actual shirt. Sadly, it's long gone

Kiss and I can't remember how old I was. Maybe 9. Odd that my holy roller mom would let me have a Kiss shirt but she didn't mind at all. Even bought me the comic book printed with Kiss Blood!!
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.
Mine was either kiss 76 or this one in 77
Mine was a stiff little fingers tee shirt seemingly .. The one that I can remember was a purgatory maiden tee shirt ... Wore it to death .
fuck your fucking framing
I'm what you'd call an anti hoarder. I only have one trunk full of stuff that I don't use on a regular basis. When I decided to sell my house in 2006 I gave away almost everything I owned. A few months later I gave away the rest of it. The only things I have other that the stuff in the trunk is this computer, my car, my dog and some clothes. I have one pair of steel toed boots and one pair of tennis shoes. I rarely buy anything but food. I only buy clothes if I absolutely need them. When I kick the bucket there won't be much crap left behind.
The Eagles 1976
Oh dear.
By the time I was old enough to pick out my own clothes and buy them Kiss wasn't cool anymore. After the Phantom Of The Park movie came out they were considered a kiddies band where I lived. Listening to Kiss and going to Kiss concerts was still OK but wearing Kiss shirts was not.
I was 8. Wearing that shirt to school was fuckin' cool.
That's why teenagers wouldn't wear one. Little kids were wearing them. I know what you mean about feeling cool because you had a Kiss shirt. I would where a motocross t shirt to school almost everyday in junior high even though I never rode a dirt bike until I was in my early 20s.
I'm pretty certain it was a Ted Nugent t-shirt from the " Winter Kill '78 - '79 " tour supporting the Weekend Warriors album . That was my first concert t-shirt and , YES , I still have it . However , I had some iron on t-shirts in the late '70's including Aerosmith " Rocks " , Lynyrd Skynyrd "Skynyrd Smokes " , and KISS Army , not to mention the usual pot leaf and Harley Davidson t-shirts .
Name any of the major bands that toured in the late 70's and early 80's and I've pretty much seen most of them. They believed in cranking it and if they caused major hearing damage so what. It's rock and roll! I was amazed at how loud Bachman Turner overdrive were.
The loudest hands down was Ted Nugent. Scary loud. Loud enough to screw up your heart beat and thow your equilibrium off. My ears rang after the concert. My right ear was like it had water in it two days after. It took three days to recover and I was worried seeing Ted live permanently fucked up my right ear. LOL!
The only thing close to that was firing a 357 magnum with no hearing protection.
We went to Grenada on a family vacation. It's very african there. Cool ass island at the time because it wasn't all touristy and you could just go off into the trees and pick spices. They had awesome swimming holes with water falls you could dive off of. For a kid the place was paradise. Anyways they sold these cool african styled shirts. I bought one.
I wore it at school in Idaho. LOL! The other kids wanted to know whee I got the bad assed shirt. Ah the mid 70's. Whacky fun times.
