Who checks out there local music scene

Minus jsnail . I'm just curious. I've spent the last two years doing so. Kinda fun at first. Lots of local talent around you I bet. Of course you have to get comfortable in bars. At least here you do.

Depends on where your locality is whether or not you have a music scene worth checking out. Now of course, I'm in Hell and all the best musicians end up here eventually.

I've checked quite a lot of local bands over the past 15 years, where I live and anywhere I've traveled to. Some of them would kick many a famous band. Those who would are professionals who fail to find bigger audiences in a wider zone than the local stages, either because they aren't businessmen enough or because they lack self-confidence. Or whatever other reason.

I just meant to get folks here "promote" musicians they thought were worth it, starting with a few ones I knew so that other posters would post theirs.

For a minute I was in the scene down here in the early 2000's, but I haven't been into it for a while. From what I gather there isn't much up this way as far as original rock music goes. There seems to be a bit of something happening in Miami, but fuck that shit, I'm not going that far south.

Well, if a Devil remembers correctly, FORD actually saw some bands playing in living rooms and county fairs in his home town who later topped charts and sold out stadiums. So maybe he would know?
