Lalo is going to end up in the concrete floor that Walter walks on..Gus has to hide that body..too early for an acid dip..Saul will never know he is dead.

Shades of Jimmy Hoffa.... most people wouldn't even know where to look for him. Yeah, I can see it.

The overlapping of where they were at at this point in Breaking Bad, is pretty cool. Weren't they building that lab in season 2 of Breaking Bad?

Yup. The clue he found was where the award was made which was on the sticker on the bottom of it "Voelkar's" and presumably an address. The message was 'In Love - Your Boys' so Lalo can trace his crew from the gift they sent to the funeral. Kind of surprised Lalo would know German but ok I guess he can google translate on his phone like the rest of us. So the best guess is that Lalo tracks down who ordered the memorial, gets him to tell him the lab was being made, goes to the lab showdown with Gus who shoots him with the pistol hidden there. Bound to be a twist somewhere but that would make sense with next episode being Lalo getting the info and the mid season finale being him being killed.
Kind of weird that the building on the left in 'Germany' in the long shot when Lalo goes back to break in as well as the tram and the background is all CGI as it was filmed in ABQ.
I dont see Werner's boy getting off as easy as Werners wife did
Ah these guys never let you down - I wish they would write a Bond movie which all have at least 20 major plot holes. They spent a year writing this season - not surprising it is so tight
So I had forgotten in the bar Werner's widow plain says it 'Werner loved seine Jungs, his boys.'
Lalo got her name from the travel wire in Season 4 (and that she had a dog which was the security question).
There is a theory which seems correct that when Gus takes the order from the customer and mentions spice curls it reminds him of being in Germany at Madrigal announcing the product, which makes him realise that is where Lalo will be and that he will end up back at the lab so better plant an escape plan - gun and switch out lights.

Also I just realized 'spice curls' is maybe a play on Spice Girls.

Good ending to first half..lots of great little things, The flick of the candle to let you know somebody walked in..Lalo seeing the roach and thinking of Jimmy...Howard got so fucked over ...poor bastard..Obviously that tape Lalo made never sees the light of day...I wonder if the scene of Jimmy running is the one he had the heart attack in..

Apparently the original plan was not to split the season but they have had to get extra time to do post production on the remaining episodes because of COVID.
Jimmy: HOW?
Kim: How..ard
I think this is an important note. He shouldn't know Lalo is thought to be dead, Kim cleverly tries to hide it but is that enough? Also there is the massive thing that Kim chose not to tell him Lalo was alive.
Well, that was unexpected...
Finally get to see how this plays out starting tonight
Forgot they had to get rid of Howard too...also in the floor..damn

Decent episode..the cleaning of the apt was sad and gross...Kims departure was weak to me..and laughed my ass off when the cousins carried Hector off while he was killing that damn bell
Show runner has been saying the next few episodes are wild and funny - I think maybe what many people thought the original show was going to be.
I'd be very very surprised if Kim doesn't feature again in the Gene timeline.
Well we knew Kim was leaving one way or another, but (unless I missed something) we didn't even see her leave. Yeah, she quits her job and is obviously packing up things at home. Then next scene, you get Saul in his fully furnished office, looking just like it did in Breaking Bad (as opposed to the empty shell of a building we had seen for most of the last two seasons) and he's now living in the mansion that we saw in the "flash forward" at the beginning of this season.
My theory is that we will see Kim again... in Nebraska. But it sure seems like they cut out a big piece of the story there.... unless the new plan is to run three different timelines in the episodes - with Saul in the "present", working up to the Breaking Bad timeline, while having "flashbacks" about how things ended with Kim, and what happened to her... and then of course, the "future" timeline in Nebraska... which we probably won't see much of until the last episode, because they don't want to give away anything. Obviously there's more to it than "Gene" being some nerdy looking guy managing a Cinnabon for the rest of his life.
No it's now in Saul mode. Kim is gone they don't need to explain any more, the show has jumped forward.
I think we are going to get a few episodes of crazy Saul stories including some Breaking Bad period crossover with Walt and Jessie and then a finish with Kim and Gene in Nebraska which could go either way.
Im thinking the entire thing has to end with a " gene " scene..and , I agree, Kim will be there
Mixed feelings on last night..Now I'm thinking " Gene" gets killed..not content to live a dull life.
Slight spoiler there are definitely more black and white scenes/episodes coming as the official podcast mentioned there were meetings with a few directors to discuss how to shoot these.
Enjoyed the Nippy episode but was a little disappointed for it all to be in one story/timeline because it means waiting a week for more Saul.
Good to see Gerry/Larry from Parks and Rec thought he played a super convincing security guard.

Two things I didn't expect to see in this show: Carol Burnett and a Hagar reference.

I really should have mentioned this about 7 years ago but just in case it's useful to someone who didn't know already, if you have a VPN and Netflix you can watch Better Call Saul on a UK connection with no commercials on demand from Tuesday each week,
I have to avoid this thread on Monday nights because we get it a day later.
