    3 things

Mike is the man..period..Cant help but like this character. The welcome mat bit was slick and he even pays back when the job is incomplete..you shitting me??!!

Kim, needs to be seen changing clothes..period..in fact, that should be considered statement one here..

Third, the writing is again brilliant. The story is falling together nicely. Every story line is interesting.

Agreed, though they too often have scenes that do nothing but stretch the show into an hour. Was there an actual point in seeing Jimmy wrestle with insomnia? This episode had key moments, but definitely stretched the soup by adding water.

I think the sleepless night was symbolic of Jimmy's preference to " Rough it"...he would rather fail on his own than succeed with help..

True. Just wish the show would pack a wallop a little more often. These seasons are pretty short. BB usually had more going on with better pacing. It was rare when they stretched the proverbial soup. Like the time they spent the full episode having Walter and Jessie hunt down a house fly in the lab. I presumed they did that episode because they fell short for the season's count and just cranked that out. It served no actually purpose, other than comic relief, minus the comedy.

It was puzzling that episode with the fly. I was ok with it because I was on a massive BB binge at the time I saw it and maybe it would have pissed me off more if I had then had to wait a week for the next episode. I think I'll go back and watch it again soon. I heard Vince Gilligan saying it was one of his favorite episodes. I think there is a Frazier episode which is all set in a car, there is one of a famous UK sitcom called One Foot In the Grave also in a car and the Scottish sitcom Still Game had a whole one set in an elevator.

It seems to be a thing with writers, the challenge to make a whole episode without action and in a single scene, like a Waiting for Godot thing.

The pacing in Better Call Saul is quite different from BB as is the mood but maybe better for it rather than being the same thing again.

It's definitely so much better and deeper than the obvious option that most people would have guessed they would do which would have been Saul has a different crooked case each week.

It is a great show. I guess it's hard to sometimes fend off my impatience for seeing how things play out. Saul was primarily the comic relief in BB. Not taking anything away from Odenkirk. His portrayal of Saul's origin is intriguing and well done, but I find the cast of characters that surround him created by Vince Gilligan to be more fascinating. It truly is a unique universe.

Like BB it almost always bears up to stupid fanboy levels of examination. It's interesting that for example a 2 hour James Bond movie with a budget of 100+ million and more ends up with a dozen plot holes whereas the Vince Gilligan machine on a fraction of that can do 30 hours with almost none. Probably just the usual thing that goes wrong in the big workplace - corporate shit.

Yeah, there are also many series' out there that seem to care little about developing plot holes. I just satisfied my inner 13 year old by binge-watching Daredevil season 2. I enjoyed seeing some of my favorite darker comic book characters receive more of a noir treatment then, say the corny Avengers films, but the plot hole count in DD2 is pretty high. I made the concession to just take it for what it is.

    Easter Eggs from Episode 7.

The realtor who showed them the house was the same one from Breaking Bad who caught Marie (Hank's wife) stealing at a house viewing.

The house is the same one Mikes family end up in.

Episode 9 was the best in a while.

    Here's a little cuntspiracy theory for y'all.

Take the Season 2 episode names

    1. Switch
    2. Cobbler
    3. Amarillo
    4. Gloves Off
    5. Rebecca
    6. Bali Ha'i
    7. Inflatable
    8. Fifi
    9. Nailed
    10. Klick

Take the first letter of each

    S
    C
    A
    G
    R
    B
    I
    F
    N
    K

Rearrange the letters and you get

    F R I N G'S B A C K

I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist but that is a hell of a coincidence...

Precedent in the titles with the teddy bear in Season 2 of Breaking Bad which were "747", "Down". "Over" and "ABQ"

Yeah that has to have been him IMHO.

There is also the the theory that Ernesto is related to Gus Fring, they look similar and his part is getting bigger.

Slightly disappointing finale I thought, didn't resolve anything and it didn't feel like the tape recording of Jimmy would stand up in any court.

Then again there are around 70 Columbo episodes and out of them I think maybe about 10 of the rich white bad guys would have been convicted once the lawyers got involved.

I kind of thought Mike was going to attempt to take out Salamaca by way of passing a bullet through Nacho. Especially after Nacho was so quick to put his hand on his gun at the slightest sign of a disagreement. Mike knows he's a potential powder keg, even though they've worked together.

I too had hoped for a bit more gusto in the episode. I do have a feeling that they'll ratchet things up for season 3. Timeline-wise, I don't see them going beyond 4 seasons, right?

I've heard them say they want to do 4 or 5 seasons.

There is nothing to stop them doing a season beyond Breaking Bad with Cinnabon Jimmy/Saul/Gene in Omaha.

They left themselves a little hook when Kim mentioned in her interview for the other legal firm that she grew up in Nebraska.

An ending possibility is Jimmy does something that gets Kim debarred, she leaves then later in the post Breakinmg Bad timeline she walks into the Cinnabon where Jimmy/Gene is working. The writers won't have decided that or much else yet but they leave themselves things in the shows so that they can use them later if needed.

Only problem they face, which isn't really a problem, is that in 2 years, Mike is going to look quite a bit older than his future self did in 2010. He's like a real life Benjamin Button in their universe.

Yeah the rest of them seem to have been made up to try and look a bit younger - maybe he is meant to have the weight of the world on him at this point.

‘Better Call Saul’ Confirms Gus Easter Egg, Will He Return in Season 3?

The age of crowd-sourcing TV mysteries has put some fans further ahead of the curve than most showrunners would like, something Better Call Saul bosses Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould apparently learned the hard way. A Season 2 finale easter egg has seemingly been confirmed, but will it lead to the full-on return of Gus Fring in Better Call Saul Season 3?

You’re warned of minor Better Call Saul spoilers from here on out, but it seems Redditors and other fans can officially take off their tin-foil hats for deducing that Season 2's episode titles (re-arranged) form the message “F-R-I-N-G-S-B-A-C-K,” something showrunners Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould reluctantly confirmed toward the end of an interview with Rich Eisen.

Monday’s Season 2 finale stopped short of actually reintroducing Giancarlo Esposito’s infamous character, though it’s at least speculated that a note left on Mike’s car was the work of the famous “Chicken Man.” An interview with HitFix saw Gilligan acknowledge the potential for Gus to appear in Season 3, though fans picking out the clue early changed their thinking a bit:

"We report this a bit sheepishly: we truly did not realize how smart our fans are. That is to our detriment. We thought that we would have more control of this little puzzle we put into the titles where we thought that today, Peter could Tweet, “Hey guys, check out the titles of this season! You might find something interesting embedded in them.” That way, as people were asking the question — “Who could have left that message in the windshield of Mike’s car?” — the little clue could have pointed to an answer to that. But because these folks are so smart, and because they got ahead of us, they changed the story on us, suddenly it looks to the world like, “Oh, man, Gus should have been in that episode. That was a bit of a bait-and-switch!” The clue got out way before the intended time for it to get out.

It was never the intention for Gus to be in that episode. And to take it a step further, people should not assume in any way, shape, or form that they’ll see Gus in the first episode of next season. It’s possible they will. It’s also possible, if not more possible, they won’t. Gus is a character, as we know from Breaking Bad, who casts a very long shadow, and has a great many agents doing his bidding. He’s a guy who’s very hard for Walter White to pin down when Walt met him, and I think that will continue to be the case. That is his character, as I understand it. He is not a guy who reveals himself very quickly.
We’ll likely learn over the next few months, if indeed Giancarlo Esposito signs to reprise his famous role, but how much of Gus’ particular brand of menace can we expect from Better Call Saul? Stay tuned for the latest on Season 2 and beyond.

Los Pollos Hermanos Restaurant Is Coming to NYC

Breaking Bad's Los Pollos Hermanos Restaurant Is Pretty Real

After stops in Austin and Los Angeles, the Los Pollos Hermanos pop-up restaurant is on its way to New York City to celebrate the debut of Breaking Bad kingpin Gus Fring in the upcoming third season of Better Call Saul.

The infamous fast food chain will be open to the public on April 9 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and April 10 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. as a lead-up to the show's premiere at 10 p.m. Monday. Although there's no official menu for the 243 Pearl Street pop-up, fans will be able to sample the fictitious restaurant's delicious new curly fries, which are guaranteed to be "prepared with love and care and delivered with a friendly smile."

Fring's return was first teased back in January with a fake commercial that featured Giancarlo Esposito — who plays the sinister drug lord — promoting Los Pollos with an eerily upbeat greeting.

I thought episode 1 was beautifully shot but I wish they would pick the pace up a little.

Binge watching it would be fine but it's a bit frustrating only that amount happening each week. Imagine you watched this without already seeing previous episodes or BB?

My best guesses at the moment?

Chuck deliberately let Ernesto hear the tape to somehow trap/punish Jimmy. This is a complicated and cunning plan that the writers are saying they took ages over and were very pleased with.

Somehow Chuck's actions get Kim put in jail pushing Jimmy to become Saul.

Ernesto is related to Fring. Fring kills Chuck.

The Cinnabon place is close to where Kim said she is from, it ends with a black and white scene where they meet could be happy or sad.

Well, since "Gene" couldn't help himself from yelling "You need to get a lawyer" at that shoplifter as the cops were dragging him away (at the Nebraska mall where the Cinnabon is) maybe the kid will take his advice and hire Kim as a lawyer, and that will somehow lead to how they eventually meet again in the "future"

Ernesto does look like he could be related to Gus..interesting. Maybe he got into a law firm internship to protest his family history...so many possibilities..

Good episode last night. I love how they are tying Gus and Mike together through their hatred of Hector..and the Jimmy/Chuck story line is great.Only wish I could netflix this and binge watch the whole thing.

The Gene stuff seems to just be in the first episode of each season.

Yeah I almost considered just waiting a couple of months and then watching it all at once, like a lot of people I binge watched most of BB so now I'm wondering if that's why the pacing on this seems a bit slow.

I can't be the only person that found the 9 minutes of Mike trailing people a bit too much at the start by around 6 minutes. The Jimmy stakeout in the restaurant was about 7 minutes or something, although it had some good moments.

Vince Gilligan and co have built up a massive amount of credit in my kudos account so I'll forgive a hell of a lot but some of this feels a bit self indulgent.

I got into Breaking Bad a little late, so I had to "binge watch" the first 4 seasons over one summer, and then watched the last season the same day the episodes were released (or the next day). It's not a bad way to watch a show.... at least you don't have time to completely forget something that happened four years ago, if the details are important in a later episode.

As far as the restaurant stakeout scene goes, I'm trying to figure out how that dude managed to get something out of his backpack while it was on the floor, but I doubt it was a mere coincidence that Gus just decided to sweep the floor at random at that exact moment. Somehow a transfer was made, and Gus managed to scoop it up into his dust pan without being seen. Probably a cash drop. Possibly drugs. Obviously couldn't be a big quantity of either, but this might be the beginning of Gus getting involved in that business.

Ill go back and watch but I dont think he did make a drop.It seemed like a setup so Gus could figure out who was tailing Hector..I think that will lead to him hiring Mike.

Yeah.Gus had an eye on Jimmy the entire time in the restaurant..Pretty obvious Jimmy was the only suit in the place eating and not very casual with the stares...that phone call Mike gets after finding the gas cap and phone will be from Gus.

At first I thought it was meant to be that the bucket thing Gus pushed around had a door and they did the switch that way but I think it's actually that Gus just maybe whispered or made a signal that the swap was off because there was some guy in a suit 3 feet away staring at them like a lunatic.

Jimmy's recovery on the watch was good but to me it seemed like a rare fuck-up by the writers when they made him such a clutz unable to watch a guy with a bag without telegraphing it to the whole State...
