That's a bit of hyperbole. Losing his job? Based on what? What everyone knew? Ease up you vermin...lol. We have heard this whole show or have you forgotten. Overall ok, with some good to very good moments from Dave and some like Panama and DTNA not so good, maybe even poor.

Diehards fill casinos and clubs. Average fans fill arenas. I don't see Ed & Al playing clubs. I don't think more than 6 or 7 songs on that show that sound like a powerful Van Halen. I burned it too a disk and didn't get through the whole thing with my eyes on it. The first 5 songs on my Baltimore 08 blow this show away !! It is what it is. A bad idea. I will buy it and burn those 6 or 7 songs on one disk and enjoy it that way.

I'm not sure if this album will affect live ticket sales very much. It won't help them but ADKOT was reviewed across the board as a 4* album and a good effort yet how much airplay did it get? This album will get a few plays and a little negative comments but will be quickly forgotten. Roth having a bad tour after carrying the first one is common knowledge to anyone that checked YouTube never mind fan sites. That's why this album is a mistake because they had two options that could build them up or at least keep them at the same level - ADKOT follow up or old live material.

They better do a very limited tour this summer, or it ain't going to last.

To fill arenas you need the less than diehard fans and when it comes to finding $300 and a babysitter to see the same show again when there is evidence it won't be as good as last time they could struggle.

They would be better playing smaller venues with deeper cuts but despite what he likes to project Eddie is not all about the music, he hasn't been for a long time. If it doesn't make money he's not that interested.

We are the consumers. These guys are SELLING us something. They set the bar high. They used to demand the best of themselves, and expected us to demand the best from them. Hey, I'm a Dave guy too. But I'm not sugarcoating this travesty. They would have gotten a free pass from me if they had thrown us a bone by including an old show with this. But to call this their "Definitive Live Album" is just a slap in the face to a fan like me. They must think we are pretty fucking stupid, and let's face it, we have been for a lot of years. They've gotten away with a lot, but I don't think they're going to get away with this one. I truly think the backlash will be as bad, if not worse, than the Cherone thing.

Its been a few years since I've posted on here, but I gotta agree with Von, this record is not good. The reviews are going to be nasty, to say the least. What really makes this release a shame is the band sounds pretty damn good .... and then .... Dave sings :-( How they (VH) don't hear it is beyond me, this thing needs to be buried in the vaults, not released!

I don't think this is anything specific to the Van Halen fanbase. It doesn't matter what you are looking at on YouTube it could be the most amazing beautiful thing ever there are always a bunch of stupid cunts bringing it down, I guess/hope it's mainly teenage boys.

What you can get if you can be bothered going through it is a bit of a sense of percentages and if it's 80% or 90% negative that is not a good sign.

That said YouTube comments are like surveys done in shopping malls or by telephone, you get a window onto the opinions of that small set of people that respond.
