“The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.”― Stephen Hawking
To me to say he is washed up is just wrong. There is something bothering him and he is overcompensating. At this point I wish he would just leave it be. There are moments in his performance that he do ok but mostly he falls short of past greatness, and thats just sad. (the decline from 2007 to 2012 is not only due to ageing, there is something else)
I love the man and won’t resort to bad mouthing, I guess we all react different when we see what unfolds, from hackle to denial. I just whish he is happy in this the current situation, but I fear that Dave is well aware of how things are and how it´s being received
Well, If I were Dave...
I'd want Michael Anthony up there...
Kinda come's off better when you watch it all at once. Fun show. Dave is o.k. He need's to stay out of that high register. Didn't do it as much.............but still to much. Frustrating how good he can still be in one song than bad the next. Ed is a monster. Wolf is great. As a 3 piece they slay it.
Oh damn, I dunno... I've just watched again the whole Kimmel show, and it's killer indeed, safe DtNA. If they play like that I'll buy a plane ticket to go and see them in NYC. I will.
Watching the Full performance except for a few songs in the 7pk, VH music is bang your head, flying down the highway doing 100 etc type of music not sit there in one spot taping your fingers! So it's easy to see why so many get frustrated watching them now because you're automatically thrown to yesteryear with Dave and his acrobatics, Ed doing his jumps and Al beating the hell out his kit then setting the gong on fire.
You can call it the curse of Van Halen. Being in their 60's now you're not going to get that type fire and energy so right about now they're giving it all they got!
I've justed checked, they won't play in NY... There's Boston on August 1st, but one of my pals will be getting married.
Maybe Washington DC on August 29th.
Geez...how stupid is that dancing crap ??
Hot For teacher is pretty good though...
Unchained is pretty good too...
First time I hear that one...
What's Dave got in his pocket ??
See Alex shake his head no, apparently in disbelief of Dave during the break ??
Edwad has really improved though...
Overall it was pretty good...
Better than Tokyo for sure...
Dave was obviously under the influence though...
I agree with the Kang. I think Dave is coked up. The chewing gum not only keeps his dry mouth hydrated, it covers up the krell induced teeth grinding
How old was Kevin Dubrow ??
52 or something like that ??
Something like that
I Enjoyed The Dancing,I Hope Dave Got Her Number.
First Roth Army Kiwi To See Van Halen Live 6/16/2012 Phoenix Arizona.
There are some great moments on the Kimmel performance. Unchained, YRGM, Teacher were all pretty solid. Couple of high register things but not too bad and they look like they're having fun. Panama was my least favourite but that being said..it was mere minutes after he fucked his nose up. That's got to play on your mojo. He overcompensated and started hitting the shrills. The facebookers and twitter heads are too quick to jump on the guy. I've got my ticket and looking forward to some set adds. Sinners Swing and Drop Dead Legs would be great.
Panama was ok
