Rolling Stones 2015 American tour: Sticky Fingers in it's entirety?

Long story short...supposedly a 14 date tour. Kicking off in San Diego, rumored stops at Red Rocks, Indianapolis Speedway, Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Buffalo. AND all of Sticky Fingers.

Billboards have been seen with the hashtag Satisfaction Thursday, announcement due the 19th?

I would hope that Mick Taylor is on board for real, if they're going to play that entire album. And does this mean an expanded "Sticky Fingers" remaster with bonus disc of vault material (just like their recent Exile & Some Girls remasters) is imminent?

Like maybe the original Muscle Schoals recording of Brown Sugar, for instance?

They could throw the Clapton version in too, for that matter.

Sister Morphine and Moonlight Mile in one show? Oof.

Haven't heard about a remaster, but April would be the 44th anniversary of Sticky Fingers.

And let's not forget, this would be the first Stones tour since '89 without Bobby Keys. Wonder who they got to fill that spot.

I love this version - Jagger is fucking brilliant. I think he is the only one who is live, though. Back in those days the show Top of the Pops (which this is from) used to make bands 're-record' their hits in the BBC studios - musician's union rules or something. I think a lot of the bands just used to hand in a slightly pared down / tweaked version of the master and act like they had re-recorded it.

Mick is certainly live, though ...

That'll will only remain a rumor. Red Rocks is small @17,000. While the sound there is absofuckinlutely incredible I cannot see the Stones playing there unless...There is some sort of ticket lottery. I'm not sure if they have ever played 'I Got The Blues' or 'You Gotta Move' live (even if they did, I'm sure those tunes were short-lived).

I rather hear some god damned new material rather than fan fleecing rehash shit (See: Rush) of a list/favorite album horseshit that so many bands are doing these days. If they do play at Red Rocks, then film the bitch so I can pretend I was there. You reading this, Keith, you lemon growing bastard?

Today I read that there might be two shows where SF is played, and those would be filmed. Who knows. Remaster/box possibly in the fall.

I can remember a bunch of us driving to Phoenix to see the Stones in 1981 to have the chance to see them live because they were looking old and probably weren't going to be around much longer. Who would think they would still be touring in 2015. I don't think any of The Stones need the money they are probably going on the road because they like doing it.

Bitch and Can't You Hear Me Knockin' may be the two best rock and roll songs ever recorded. They are both perfect.

    Rumored dates

5/24 Petco Park, San Diego, CA

    5/30 Ohio Stadium, Columbus, OH

6/3 TCF Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN

    6/6 Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, TX

    6/10 Vanderbilt Stadium, Nashville, TN

6/13 Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium, Orlando, FL

6/16 or 17 Bobby Dodd Stadium, Atlanta, GA

    6/20 Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA

    6/23 Marcus Amphitheater, Milwaukee, WI

6/26 or 27 Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO

6/30 or 7/1 Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, CA

7/4 Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis, IN

    7/8 Comerica Park, Detroit, MI

7/11 Ralph Wilson Stadium, Buffalo, NY

7/15? Le Festival d'été de Québec, Plains of Abraham, Québec City, QC or RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest, LeBreton Flats Park, Ottawa, ON

If these are correct, I could go to Columbus, Detroit, and Buffalo. Gotta work the day of the Pittsburgh show. Would probably get a presale ticket for Columbus and if they do the "Lucky Dip" tickets for $100 again I'd get those for the other two shows.

Also reading that the full Sticky Fingers shows would be at the Nokia in LA and both would be filmed for the re-issue set.

AND now the announcement is on Satisfaction Wednesday. Moved up a day, or back a week?

Wow, I'm not sure but that might be the first show at Ralph Wilson Stadium since the 90's. I'd like to see them, but am not paying big money for a band I'm lukewarm on...

It does, but where would they play other the the Gorge that would make it a real event?

I wouldn't want to see them in our football stadium again...

I would love to see The Stones at the Gorge. Think it's too small of a venue for them though, unless they were going to play 2 or 3 shows there, and that schedule certainly doesn't leave room for multiple gigs. Seems they're leaving three days between gigs by design. Possibly because of the huge stage and also because these guys are in their 70s and don't want to play every night anymore.

I think they are going out for the simple fact they want to do it. I think after awhile they get hungry for it. Yeah these guys aren't spring chickens they are going to pace themselves.

First heard Satisfaction on the radio in my mom's car probably around 1969. I was hooked after that. I didn't care about those Beetles guys. It was always the Stones for me. I even had Rolling Stones stickers on my Stingray bike.

Fuckin Pee Wee Herman could play the Gorge and everyone would have a good time. Such a fuckin spectacular spot. Never been to Red Rocks that cave thing although that seems popular these days.

I see posts on those two miserable excuses for fan forums saying how hard it is going to be to get tickets. I don't think that's going to be the case. Most of the NE shows are within two to four hours of each other. Only kooks like me are going to go to more than one show. The casual fan will be scared away by the high ticket prices. And these are stadiums holding 70k and up, not basketball arenas under 20k. I am laughing at all the doom and gloom (pun intended?) posts over there.

As expected, here comes the Sticky Fingers Remastered Megabox

The Rolling Stones will reissue their classic 1971 album Sticky Fingers as a super deluxe edition box set in May, which features previously unreleased studio recordings and rare live performances. The new deluxe edition of the album is a two-disc set that includes the remastered album, plus a bonus CD featuring previously unreleased alternate takes and live performances. These include the alternative version of Brown Sugar featuring Eric Clapton; unreleased interpretations of Bitch, Can’t You Hear Me Knocking and Dead Flowers; an acoustic version of Wild Horses, and five tracks recorded live at The Roundhouse in 1971 including Honky Tonk Women and Midnight Rambler. At a mid-range price point is the deluxe edition box set that adds a DVD to the standard deluxe, which includes two tracks from the band’s famous Marquee Club show of 26 March 1971. This comes in presentation box with 72 page hardback picture book and four postcard set.

As well as the two CDs and DVD mentioned above, the top-of-the-range Super Deluxe Edition also includes an official release of the Get Yer Leeds Lungs Out! bootleg. The 13-track CD featuring the audio recording of the Stones’ gig in Leeds in March 1971, shortly before their ‘exile’ in France began. The set included versions of the just-completed Brown Sugar, Bitch and Dead Flowers. The Super Deluxe Edition box set also includes a 120 page hardback book complete with real zip, a seven-inch vinyl record (Brown Sugar/Wild Horses), a print, postcard set and mini replica of band cut-out.

The double vinyl includes the bonus audio and the packaging has the real zip on the front. All the versions reissue utilise the 2009 mastering – this has been confirmed to SDE by Universal Music. Sticky Fingers is reissued on 25 May 2015.

    Yeah, this is good....

Oddly enough, I never made the connection until now, but this version makes it clear that "Bitch" evolved from another song called "Highway Child".

Looks like there's also a DVD release of the full Marquee performance from 1971 in the works....

    Oh my...

The Stones won't be ripping anybody off here. I may already have the Leeds Lungs Out and the Marquee concert on pretty good bootlegs, I'll get those refreshed versions and the alternate or extended takes as soon as they're released.

Ah... June 9th just seems a bit far away.

    True dat!

Any self-respecting rock band would at least have the decency to drop a new, definitive LIVE CD of their last tour, and then go out and support that!!!!

Haven't gotten my ticket for the Columbus show yet. There are plenty available in the first three or four sections on either side of the field, and I am waiting for a fire sale. If a $395 ticket is going to drop under $200 I will be all over it.

And today I see that Kid Rock is opening.

I'd be curious about a new Stones studio album, but not at all about another live album from a recent performance.

Re-releases of old stuff like they've been delivering for a few years is exactly what I'm expeting from them. Different takes of "Can't you hear me knockin" or "Bitch" from the early 70s will always be incomparatively better than anything from today.

What if Van Halen did the same? Would anybody complain about re-releases of WaCF and Fair Warning, with a couple of outtakes and different versions?

One can always blame the Stones for wanting to cash in, but at least, unless Mick Jagger mocks the fans by re-recording his vocals on original versions, they give their fans what they want.

I'm all for a new studio album as long as they get someone other than Don Was to produce it.

Great show in Columbus last night! Easily as good as the show I saw in Toronto two years ago, and miles better than Detroit '05.

Second show of the tour, relatively tight but they messed up a couple endings. One song, Jagger clearly said "what the fuck?" when the band played a few more bars. Noob friendly set list, no big surprises. Standard stadium show stage with no real theme. They re-used a lot of the video and graphics from the '12 tour but had a different opening montage that was pretty cool. Got four of the big hits done early, Doom and Gloom fifth and then two from Sticky Fingers, Bitch and Wild Horses. Fan pick was Paint It black and they did a bit of Hang On Sloopy before it for the football turds in attendance. Keef did Before They Make Me Run and Happy. Six more of the big hits followed. Stage has a long ramp out into the middle of the floor, Jagger went out quite a bit and Keith and Woody joined him during Miss You, then Lisa Fischer went out there for Gimme Shelter. Show went almost to 11:45, I thought we might get shorted due to the opening act. There was a threat of rain the whole day, looks like it rained during soundcheck while we were up the street at the bar but the rain held out until about an hour after the show. An hour that we sat in traffic a block from the parking garage...

Kid Rock was merely okay. Big band, and I'm not counting the guy on the turntables. Thought Kid was trying to sell me a Chevy at the end but it was just Born Free.

Didn't buy my tickets until Thursday. It was a slow seller and I had had my eye on lower level seats for $395 but I was waiting for them to come down to under $200. Many sections saw prices flexed down over the last few weeks. TM pulled the "choose your seat" option on Wednesday and then they brought back the Lucky Dips for $40 each, sold in pairs. I bought those instead. Got into Cbus around 4, hit the Lucky Dip table and was pleased (elated, relieved, etc) that my $40 got me a $250 club seat. Ohio Stadium has bleacher-style seating all the way around, except in the club section where they are regular stadium seats with backs and cupholders, and quick access to the club area. I think I paid $35 the first time I saw the Stones in '89, $40 26 years later isn't too bad I guess.

And I forgot...we're going to the club to get some drinks, and the first person I see out of the stairway is Chuck Leavell. He must have been at a meet and greet up on that level.

With all the State Highway Patrol in the building I felt like I was watching the Blues Brothers at the Palace Hotel Ballroom.

Maybe in three years we'll get a 40th anniversary re-issue of Some Girls with accompanying tour...
