From where I was sitting it looked like a Fender Jazzmaster or Mustang guitar

"Why in the fuck is he playing guitar when he has two guitar heavy hitters on ether side of the stage and some douche kid in the back playing an acoustic?"

That guitar be a Fender Jaguar. It was one of Fender's deluxe models in the day. You would see old ones in pawn shops in the early 80's and nobody wanted them because that's what the guy on Lawrence Welk played. People wanted Strats and Teles. Then a guy by the name of Kurt Cobain played one and people wanted the Jaguar again. I can remember when people thought 70's Stratocasters were junk in the 80's and now people want them thinking they are collectable. Funny how people's perceptions of things change.
