So where are you going to see Van Halen?!

I'm hopefully heading to Raleigh and the Hollywood Bowl...my plastic is melting, but what the hell, it's Van Halen. And as we all know with this band, things change quickly!

Where are you and yours heading?

San Diego...although that's the next to last stop on the tour so I also put same amount of money with my bookie in Vegas, in case I'm (unfortunately) right and they cancel halfway through...

I still say they are really completing the last tour where they had to cancel due to Ed's health...they are going to all of the De Moines- like places they didn't make it to before.

The only danger is some of these places are such a pain to get into and out of, many will not want to bother. S0 much easier to go to the regular arena venue.

I will only buy front-row tickets for new acts that perform at large clubs. Which would cost about 1/4 the price of these cheap seats.

I hear ya, but I'll gladly pay $35 to hear Ed rip it live.. he's playing well these days. VH is better seen live. That album does it no justice.

Charlotte for sure but I am hoping to catch the Pittsburgh show as well. Mainly because I missed the last tour and want to get a good dose of VH this time and also because I had tickets for a cancelled show last time. I'm guessing show number 12 (Pittsburgh) would be more likely to happen than a show towards the end of the tour but I do want all the shows to happen for us VH diehards!

After reading a lot of these posts...not trying to be a DLR or VH apologist over here, but jeez. I know Dave's not sounding as great these days, but he's still Diamond Dave. He didn't sound that much significantly better in '07-'08 for fuck's sake. Aside from some melody changes, "buuurnin' down the avennnowww," and few other negatives, he sounds like he usually does (or has been for decades) on TDLIC. I'm sure this will come across as annoying, but are you David Lee Roth fans? And if not anymore, why spend time in your life posting on a fan web site of his and just be done with him?

Looks like Drop Dead Legs is making it to the setlist
I love making fun of him when he can't remember how to play something. He didn't know I was filming till he looked up. A video posted by Wolf Van Halen (@wolfvanhalen) on Apr 20, 2015 at 2:35pm PDT

I thought it sounded like the riff right before the harmonica break in The Full Bug.

That is actually Ed's impersonation of me attempting to play any of his stuff. And it still sounds better than me.

Not necessarily.... they played "Drop Dead Legs" at soundchecks on the Velveetapalooza 2004 tour and the 2012 tour, but it still never made it to the actual stage. Certainly fortunate in the first case, at least, because Hagar attempting that song would has been as awful as his pathetic renditions of RWTD or Unchained (no I'm not posting that shit again).

It's unbelievable to me that they have never played this song live for real, not even in 1984.

Oh, and for the record, as to the thread topic.... I'm probably skipping this tour. Not entirely by choice..... my month long battle with America's shittiest cable monopoly just happened to begin right in time for me to miss the online ticket sales, and I won't pay the scalper price for this lineup.

(if there's still a physical Ticketbastard ticket outlet in this town, I wouldn't have the slightest fucking clue where it is)

(if there's still a physical Ticketbastard ticket outlet in this town, I wouldn't have the slightest fucking clue where it is)
If ticket sales are anything like they are here just hop online. There are plenty. I'm keeping it simple for this tour - $33 lawn tickets to hear Eddie tear it up is more than fair.

I wonder how this tour is going to do and when I say that I am referencing the venues.

Aren't many of these a nightmare to get into and out of and in the middle of nowhere in some cases? I wonder if more people would come to events indoors in the downtown core or the usual places.

I imagine more tix will be sold closer to the events but I think the results would be better in the local hockey/basketball arenas etc
