You know something? I think Kristy's right & most of you are still stuck in 1985 & are now slowly awakening to the realization that the world has changed around you. Not by choice, but because Van Halen is interacting with the real world, so you guys have no choice but notice it.

Well, welcome to 2015. All entertainment has gone to SHIT. Music is safe, bland corporatized bullshit that sounds exactly the same no matter who's auto-tuning, movies are recycled trash with the same actors, camera shots, soundtracks & ONE carefully woven plot that tries very hard not to offend any susceptibilities or allows you to think during the whole ordeal. Books have become poorly written fan-fiction with emphasis on either forced sexual tension - Young Adults - or straight up, also poorly written mind pornography for frustrated housewives.

Culture has become the equivalent of talking about the weather.

Welcome to my nightmare - I think you're gonna like it.

    Cheers!
There's great music and movies out there, you just have to search harder for it these days.

The weird thing now is the famous for being famous phenomenon.

The thing is, the design is called a "template". It exists in publishing, movies and music. Some of the design first appeared in early newsprint, when publishers would share formats, and still exist to this day. My "local" paper is formatted in Chicago, with gaps left for local stories here.

I recall Twayne's tune sounding just like a Def Leppard record. And currently, country sounds like pop. In a way, that ain't so bad...yet I still miss Buck Owens, Merle, and Waylon.

For that matter, Straight, Yoakum and Earle.

The "template" is pretty simple for guitar... rhythm is a combination of G, C & D chords in various order with Em or F thrown into the chorus, bridge or turn around. Most are just the Major chords but some spice them up using minors, aug's, or 7th's mostly on the C. This applies to country, rock and folk/hippie music.

Based on what I've read from you guys here over the past few years, I can't imagine how the younger generation out your way would even know who they are.

Saw the ad during yesterday's Cavs game. But they're using a pic from the '07 tour.

Are we the fans too conditioned to always expecting some sort of cuntroversy with these fellas or is somethings a miss again on Howdy Doody Mountain..?

Just goes to show that being the "best" country singer or group isn't all that hard. Not that she wasn't/isn't an amazing talent. She IS.
