He's been keeping this to himself and a few of us minions for a few months now, but since he's now let everyone else know, I can put it out here as well...
JHale recently auditioned for RATT, and while he didn't ultimately get the gig, that's still one helluva accomplishment to even audition for them.

He may have dodged a bullet, RATT seem to lurch from one band breakup argument to the next.
All they need to do is keep their shit together for 10 or 15 festival shows each Summer and they could make an ok living which they should be fucking grateful for considering how long it's been since they made a splash.

Great riff, but man, did that guitar sound not age well.
It's not one of the best songs on the album.
Ratt were actually ahead of the curve back in the day guitar sound wise.

Um, thanks everyone, VA... but - to clarify:
Wasn't the classic line-up, no. Perhaps the next incarnation/iteration (?). There wasn't a 2nd guitarist there because y'know, they were auditioning guitarist(s). But yes, got to play RATT songs with one of the people that wrote them (twice). YES those riffs (and solos) are fun to play. Even though I didn't ultimately get the gig, it was an extremely positive experience. Very cool people, very supportive & encouraging (and continue to be). First time I'd tried for a real gig in ages, and got kinda close for a second. If nothing else, I not only got to jam with, my playing was complimented by someone who has also played with 2 out of 3 members of my holy trinity of guitar (Rhoads and Lynch). I'll take that.

I think the Ratt guitar sound has held up well over the years. They wrote some of the most memorable riffs ever.

Congratulations. I was invited to try out for a minor league baseball team while I was playing American Legion baseball in the late 70s. I didn't make the team but they were impressed with my batting skills. It was still quite an honor to tryout though.

The latter. At our age, we are supposed to be dignified...failing that, at least give the appearance.
I think non guitarists don't know how technical some of that stuff is, RATT get lumped in with the hair bands but Warren was more Jake E Lee than Mick Mars.

The Dog congratulated your best friend & then shared an anecdote about his own past. Regardless of the time that passed between these two momentous events, why would you feel the need to humiliate C-Dog without any kind of provocation on his part? And on your best friends' kudos thread, of all places.
Neither of them got the gig. How is not getting one gig infinitely better than not getting another gig? It just smacks of unwarranted, unprovoked abuse for no reason other than maybe trying to feel better by putting someone else down.

Classic thread stalk. Clear to anyone without an agenda, CD was using the best example from his own experience to congratulate JH and comment on it being an honor to have had an opportunity to tryout (something JH basically said himself).
Shame we don't have a current minor-leaguer on the site... can you imagine the outrage if this showed up in this thread?

I really don't get it. What goes on in these peoples' minds? What is this need to be constantly comparing e-penis size?
