His tenure totally dismantled what Van Halen was about and the ignorant generation after classic Van Halen do not know the whole story or can not understand it after what Hagar warped the name to be. Can you imagine what would have happened towards Zeppelin or Aerosmith if Hagar had taken over, it would have buried their legacy and those who still knew what the legacy actually was, would have to put up with the young Hagar fans (there was never enough actual Hagar fans before Van Hagar to even consider) and being a fan and appreciating anything becomes an ordeal... Sammy Hagar is why Van Halen is not Van Halen today, regardless if it was Ed's decision or not!

This is not "carrying the flag of rock", this is all in the name of vindication and self validation that "your band" is still the shit. You hold them in such high regard as if they were an extension of you. It's easy to see why you get so balled up when any negativity is hurled Dave's way, you can't let go, you've devoted your life to Dave or the grave. Well, be honest. You can't judge the amount of time one has spent here by their post count. You are the perfect example. You're reading through virtually all that is posted here while looking for the perfect time to interject what fan boys we all are. That takes a lot of commitment. So much that I'm sure it must interfere somewhat with all you have "going on".

Posts like the ones where you're complimentary of anything Dave and VH related are few and far between. You've got to admit, it's a touch unusual to spend any time where you no longer find enjoyment.
