Don't know if anyone here really cares anymore, but it has been rumored for years now that Van Halen would headline the Download Festival here in blighty one day. In this months issue of Classic Rock, Andy Copping the festival organizer says VH fronted by DLR is his all time favourite Rock band and has had verbal conformation from the band that they would headline twice now, including last year (2014)
He is quoted as saying " Last year was their 30th anniversary, i saw an entire European schedule that had been verbally confirmed. An unfathomable amount of money was on the table and it would have involved less than 3 weeks spent outside the US. They'd have cleaned up. I'm still left wondering why the fuck they won't just come over and do it. I hope it happens before everyone gets super-old and grey"
This is one of Europe's biggest booking agents and even he can't fathom out the mighty VH mindset!!!
