About the only song that I consistently skip is Blacklight. Everything else is some of Dave's best solo work.I brought my pencil!!!Comment

I think that LP was his best solo work if one was looking for a style similar to Van Halen. Eat Em And Smile was great but this LP was amazing. WatWazZat, Little Texas and fucking Relentless was amazing and then Black Sand to finish it off was the exclamation point. I remember Alex Van Halen in some interview talking about this album, strange as hell right because it seems he never talks unless he is babysitting an Edward news presser and I am not making this up, and he said this is the kind of LP I would like to make... how are those apples Eduardo lolI got lost in the...Comment

Lovely tunage, terrific late evening vibe. One lobster, two dozen clams, corn, red onion, onion rolls, churico sausage and potatoes, 8 beers, plus a load of vodka into things...as of 10:49 PM.
Message sent and received: I live well, and so should YOU...
Then again, I could have found that on an episode of Dinners, Drive Ins And Dives..

I swear he said it. It was around 2007 when they reformed and the question of their careers came up when he was not in the band. I have no idea now where any link would be to it but he did say it and now every time I play this LP I think of Alex's opinion because it was fucking weird to actually hear a member of Van Halen acknowledge something Dave did in a positive light lolI got lost in the...Comment

I remember reading an interview with Ray Luzier, who said he was standing on line for something and realized he was behind Alex Van Halen. He introduced himself, and Alex said he knew who he was and he liked his work on DLR Band.
I can definitely believe AVH said he'd like to make an album like that. I would love to read the interview mentioned above though.Comment
