Not a bad show, considering Dave was approaching 50 at that point. He seemed to run low on energy halfway through the set, and this was the point where his stage attire and appearance was getting a bit ridiculous in terms of him hanging on too long to a visual image that was already a decade past its prime (an approach which reached its nadir a few years later on the Sam and Dave tour, where Roth's stage clothes and platinum blonde hair extension weaves were just laughable). The leaping splits from the drum riser are in their waning days here.

In 2000, he was still in the early stages of trying to make a comeback happen. His DLR Band album of 2 years earlier had come and gone without so much as a whimper, his autobiography didn't exactly set the world on fire and he was now opening for other acts or headlining in small venues.

However, at least in 2000 Roth would still go out and sing the tunes properly. After the first reunion tour with Van Halen, by the time ADKOT hit the road Dave wasn't really trying as hard...I wouldn't say he's exactly phoning it in these days, but at times it feels and sounds like he's reaching for the receiver. Then again, the guy is in his 60s now.
    Scramby eggs and bacon.
