I have wanted to get back with Douglas since I came back. We just never had a really good reason to go through with the problems and work of moving a database the size of ours to a new host/server. With the shit going on with Hack Nine over the last week, I felt the time was now right to just bite the bullet, and get it done. For those that don't know, Douglas pretty much did all the tech admin on the old DDLR site. We have been through the wringer together. From our wives getting 3 am death threats to our families, to Dave's dumbfuck Manager wanting to delete us for posting live bootleg videos, to transfers from VB to SMF based forums. We have spent countless hours fucking with this crazy forum stuff. I have the utmost confidence we will now be more stable, and the upgrades I thought about when I first came back, will now become a reality, over time.

By the way, even though I stated above that I had been working 24/7 on this shit, I really haven't. I did spend a lot of time on the phone with those fucks, but Douglas did all the real heavy lifting. Sesh sat around with his feet up and the wind blowing up his skirt, fanning the stench of his old wrinkly ballsack, while drinking himself into a drunken stupor.

At some point today, we'll be spinning up the second front-end web server to balance the workload of the site... so if we ever have to do any server maintenance, the site won't go offline as a result.

Building up on what Von said... the last time we did this dance together, I actually owned the physical servers/hardware. At the end of 2007, and being sick for 3+ weeks the last time everything was hacked... I weighed my options carefully and decided to "semi-retire" (AKA get out of the hosting business for myself, choosing to continue to work for someone else, which reduced my workload AND stress levels).

Long story short, a lot of things have changed the past 8 years for me. I'm still working for a hosting provider, but a different one. The very people that RA is now hosted by. In 2010, I also began transitioning into Sports Media (Collegiate level). I now cover collegiate football and basketball games, on the field/court (photography work). I've been to some incredible events the past three years... and love what I do. I just wish I got PAID for it (I've invested over $13K of my own money into my sports media stuff, between my new office/radio broadcast studio, to my travels across the southeastern part of the US, to my new tailgating set up (my tent, alone, cost $2700).

Kicked the kiddo out of the house (no, not really) and now stand as a proud papa, watching her Naval career advance (She worked on F-18 Super Hornets previously, now working on Helicopters. Only female Avionics Mechanic in her entire squadron).

I still get stressed from time to time... and tend to overbook/overwork myself. Sleep schedule sucks. Growing old sucks. Dealing with Von and Sesh suck.

But hey, at least y'all are back up now!
