What's sad is the whole concept of practice makes perfect is ingrained in Dave's passion for his martial arts crap... just needs to transfer that energy to honing his voice instead of some imaginary fight he'll never be in. How many dedicated and proficient martial art's experts pay a fat-assed fucking body guard to escort them their entire adult life..?

I assume that the martial art training was more about being able to kick his head height at 60 onstage than bar brawls...

I'm half your age and I can't do that.

Really famous ones like Dave? Probably quite a few. That fat assed bodyguard is probably carrying a firearm just in case some nut ball decides to try to put a couple bullet holes in his client like Mark David Chapman did to John Lennon. Real bad guys attack you when you're not looking and don't mind ganging up on you whether they need to or not. Martial artists are only invincable in movies.

Seriously..? You think DLR's motivation towards martial arts was to hone his stage antics..?

First off... most of the stage moves Dave has used over the years is far more closely aligned with common gymnastics and fucking cheer-leading than any tough guy martial arts. Secondly... at the young age when Dave started into martial arts majority of kids are just pussies who couldn't fight in the streets and defend themselves from bullies. So their rich parents paid to have them trained... but most remained social outcasts and still got their asses kicked...

Thankfully twona isn't too good at math... If he was y'all would think I'm in my 90's... Punks!!

I saw a Seth Rogan interview recently and something he said made me feel the martial arts thing is big for kids in the Jewish community.

Yep. You put a daughter in competitive cheer and advanced gymnastics classes and you'll think they've been watching your old VH bootlegs.

Just a tad bit of exaggeration from you two.....

I'd wholeheartedly agree with the post-2007 Dave onstage, but wouldn't his 1984 routine fall inline with his Iaido training?

Don't tell me? I saw this tour live, from the front row. As I did the first 5 headlining tours. Yeah, he had scarfs on stage, and a zillion "costume" changes. That's why this was the worst tour of the 5, and probably a big part of why it was the last.

I took this pic at the Kansas Coliseum on the 84 tour.

I wasn't talking about his Crouching Ninja, Hidden Homo routine from '84

I showed my cheer daughter the two minute montage of all of Dave's different jumps and she was naming what he was doing. I think Zah Zoo pointed out the cheer connection a couple of years ago. Fitting that Dave has refered to himself as the band's cheerleader way back when.

Watching that '84 sword dance thing reminded me that I recently saw an awful version of Mine All Mine performed by Sammy's Circle. The song was better as an instrumental in '84.
