I think Cenk from the Young Turks (see the video I posted earlier) had the most reasonable military strategy for this. No more drones, no more carpet bombing, no more massive "boots on the ground" full scale invasions. Just send in the special forces to target the assholes who are actually pulling this shit, and take them out with as little "collateral damage" (civilians killed) as possible.
You'll certainly be able to make a more rational argument to the "good" Muslims that they aren't being targeted by the "great Satan" if there aren't any more random drone bombings at weddings, and that kind of shit.
