A few weeks back, I asked supporters like you if they remembered where they were when President Obama was first elected in 2008. I was really moved by so many of the responses, but it wasn't just November 4th, 2008 that will go down in history.

We'll also remember March 23rd, 2010, when President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act, which has now given more than 17 million Americans access to quality coverage.

And November 6th, 2012, when Americans stood together to protect the progress we made and to keep moving forward by re-electing the President to his second term.

Or just this year, on June 26th, when a Supreme Court majority declared that love is love and made same-sex marriage the law of the land, and the White House lit up that night in rainbow colors to celebrate.

When I read Ford's response to Shultz, the thought that this was something exactly along the lines of a Hunter S. Thompson reply sprung to mind.

Obama's presidency, in terms of whatever bold ambitions he once professed, is over. His 2nd term has reeked of lame duck for me. Voted for the guy twice and have no regrets at all for either of those votes, but the bloom has been off the rose for that administration since 2010 for me. And I'd be willing to wager few in this country other than political junkies even pay attention to Obama anymore when he speaks. Along the same lines as Reagan or Clinton in the last year of their presidencies: for good or bad, most people are just tired of him and ready to move on.

One thing Obama could do to redeem himself a bit would be to pardon Edward Snowdon at the end of his term.
