Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!

I know it's the wrong record but it would kick ass if they did Easy Street. But anything they play is gonna be awesome. I'm just excited to hear and see it. And it's been a while since I got excited about anything DLR related.

I'd say he overstayed his welcome already. The reunion tour was needed, for better or worse & so was the "new" album. They should've called it a day right then & there.
I'll say straight out with no hesitations that Roth CARRIED the 2008 show I saw. Ed wasn't in any condition to play to audiences paying premium prices. Wolfie was virtually inaudible. Alex was spot-on, but Roth did an outstanding job at the 2008 show I saw. He didn't 'forget the fucking words, man', the monologues between songs were kept to a bare minimum, and Roth was singing the tunes well. Frankly, going into that show I was wondering if Roth was going to be up for it, because the shows I saw in 2005 and 2006 were entertaining, but Dave was clearly coasting through them and not putting out maximum effort. But Roth brought his A game to the 2007/2008 shows. No doubt.

And I'll agree that a reunion did need to happen. Least it did as far as I was concerned. Yeah, Anthony should have been there in 2007/2008 (and beyond), but I was willing to make the concession rather than just write the band off. Because I wanted to see Roth and Eddie blazing through those tunes again, and if the band had ended on a shitty note like the 2004 Van Hagar reunion tour...I mean, fuck, I wouldn't wish that kind of death on my worst enemy.

Well, 2007/2008 was good. 2012 saw all the Van Halens rehearsed, on point and delivering a professional set night after night. Sadly, in 2012 Dave wasn't quite up to the task anymore. And from what I saw of the 2015 shows, it was pretty much along the same lines as 2012: the Van Halens (ALL of them, Wolfie included) are carrying Dave.

Hey, it's not a situation that makes me particularly happy, but a different kind of truth is that the best shot the band had to REALLY come back strong was in 1996. By the time 2007 rolled around, it was sadly a case of too many years the band really didn't have to piss away wasted, and time is working against them now more and more with each new tour.

I'm ready...Ready as ready can be.
I'm ready for you, hope you're ready for me!!

Hell yeah! Tonight is the night! After too many years of no work, Diamond David Lee Ralph returns to the bright lights and big sounds with the original EEAS band!! So make sure you stock up on plenty of cheap American beers! In the words of David Lee Ralph himself: "The more you drink, the better we'll sound..."

What time does the show start?? I gotta get good and lubed up for this one. And I gotta drank some beers first too!

Rembrandt was one guy. I'm not convinced a band with one different member is a cover band. Any idea what they're calling this band?

Just read that John 5 was jamming early in the night,
but later they went over capacity, in anticipation of the big thing
Fire Marshall got involved & the EEAS jam was called off....

bunch of people waited in the cold,
annd...PSYCH! Go home, nothing to see here...

Sheehan posted this on his FB:

"Well well well. The fire department shut down the whole show before we got on stage. And did we ever have a surprise for you! Such is life."

And a comment on one of Sheehan's posts:

"I left work early with a friend of mine to see the 30th Anniversary of Eat Em and Smile All Star Jam. We waited in line for over an hour and the idiots let too many people in. The Schmuck at the door with the counter apparently couldn't count numbers even with the help of a machine and as a result, the Fire Marshall shut the place down. Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan, Greg Bissonette and special guests David Lee Roth and Steven Tyler weren't able to perform. It was amateur hour at Lucky Strike and someone should be fired over this. I'll never go back."

Also, I'd known Roth was going to be there since last week, was sworn to secrecy. So even bigger bummer. Vai is the one that talked him into it. Just sucks.
The line was curling around the corner on to Hollywood Blvd. at 6:30 when I got there. There were 400 more people in the building than allowed by law. Vai even offered to PAY THE FINE, fire marshall said no fuckin' way. Chances are it'll never happen again, and if it does, not likely there.

Ralph was there in case Dave decided not to show, but - Dave was there. Brett Tuggle was there. It was to be a full EEAS band reunion, and they let too many people in. Place only holds 800 on the best day, and they apparently tried to pack 2000 in. History, denied.

Apparently there were already more people in line than the place could hold when I got in.

Line's already around the block at @luckystrikelive ... glad I got here early. #EEASreunion A photo posted by Jay Hale (@jhale667) on Nov 25, 2015 at 7:13pm PST

The last thing we need is another Station incident.

I saw another FB post that said they were looking for volunteers to leave, so the show could start. I laughed so loud I probably woke up my neighbors.

Totally agree on the Station thing, not to mention it wasn't lost on me that as hyped as it was if someone was looking to pull off a Paris in L.A. it would have been the perfect place. But THAT happening was kind of embarrassing. In the 20 minutes it took for the MC Paulie to keep asking and not get enough volunteers to leave (hell, I considered it) - even though a LOT of people volunteerd, they could have just let them play - and the 1000 non-regulars that were there would have left immediately after. Just terrible planning - they hyped this on the local news and acted surprised they ended up over capacity (?). The place isn't THAT big, it's a bowling alley the rest of the week...lol. The club itself still made a killing though - the lines at the bars were so long everyone (myself included) was buying drinks two at a time, and I've NEVER seen that many food orders come out, but people (like me) showed up 2 and 3 hours earlier than normal and had planned to make an evening of it. Club won, fans LOST.

There's gotta be a dozen venues in LA that could get this pulled together TONIGHT.
