When I saw Van Hagar in '86, BTO with Leslie West opened up. Either Leslie or someone from that band played an abysmal solo with a drum stick. I remember thinking, at age 16, "now there's a man out of ideas". When I saw Ed pulling that stunt in '07, I thought the same damn thing. Thank God he's regained his ability to dazzle and impress on the 6 string twanger.

If I had been Dave I woulda been going to Ed's dressing room every night with a case of Heinekens. I'd get him shitfaced before every single show so he'd stagger around and play crappy stuff every single night. Oh god would it have been hilarious. And I'd have Sammy show up and sneak him onstage and when Ed started playing Jump I'd toss Sam the mic and watch Ed's head literally explode.

Oh man I wish I had bought tickets for that tour. Say what you want about Slappy but he does at least try to put on a show - yeah it's stupid looking but he does put some effort into it. That motherfucker didn't even bother to try to put on a show for that tour. Which made him look even dumber than usual. But when you've got OBC over there literally cussing at the audience and crying then why bother? Mike was the only one putting any effort into it at all, Sam's just doing stupid shit, Al's just waiting for the check each nite, and then you've got this drunken retard over there writing all over himself with Sharpies. You just can't make stuff like this up.
