I hate radiomat, I live in the sticks and can't get broadband, have been listening through the windows media player mms://winmedcdn.cbsig.net/infinity_wysp-fm. Cant get it to work today, is it just me? Is there another direct link without radiomat?
HELP I am missing the show!!!!

Post by: damngoodtimes on January 09, 2006, 08:57:33 AM
this has been very interesting. they've been talking about bands getting back together. a couple of the in-studio guys were ragging on the Cream reunion as a cash-grab. Dave brought up the Steve Perry clone in Journey.

it took awhile, but Dave finally mentioned Sammy. "What do you guys think of Sammy?" he left it kind of open-ended. after a little discussion, he asks a guy what his favorite Sammy tune is. guy says, I cant drive 55. Dave says, "quick, somebody sing me that song."

    silence.

    Dave: "my point exactly."

    cut to commercial.

Dave has an interesting take on the whole "triggering & sampling" thing...

for some bands and acts it matters, for others it's like 'who cares?'

I think it did clock in at an hour, give or take a minute. I think it was used as a springboard to go after Speilberg and the whole 1st ammendment thing.

Hey Walker, how's Howard doing this morning? Is it different, or is it same show and different channel?

I only got to listen to if for a couple hours.
    Same show it's always been.
I think hiring George Takei (Mr Sulu) as the shows announcer was a stroke of genius.
That homo is out of control.
Artie curses too much and it's annoying.

Here's the Dave related content from this morning's Stern show.
Howard was going to call Dave this morning... he said he listened to Dave's show last week (Monday and a little of Tuesday) and heard Dave ask him to call in, so Stern said he would call him and offer him some advice. Dave's show wouldn't take the call... Gary thinks it was because it was stopped by the station manager before the request even made it's way to Dave or because they though it was a troll.
Seemed like a shit move by Stern to say he was trying to 'help' Dave, when it seemed to me it was Stern's way of reminding any of his old K-Rock listeners that he was back on the air.
He also said the critics of Dave's show need to cut him a break and give him about 12-18 months for his show to find it's place.
He also compared Dave to James Bond and wondered why a guy who is so fearless seemed so fearful of discussing his personal life and went on to imply that Dave might be a fag.

Would that be the one Hagar stole from Robert Palmer's 'Doctor, Doctor'?

I already grabbed today's Stern show, and give it a listen tonight.

I heard it was pretty good, until the long-winded press conference, and also that the revelations were kind a disappointing after all they hype.

If Stern calls Dave, I'd wanna hear them talk about Emily & her appearance in that Kabbalah play--Stern says he ain't pissed, she's her own woman, but Roth's crew was insinuating he was--how they would know is beyond me.
