Slave FORD has obviously never heard of John Hammond
Slave FORD has obviously never heard of John Hammond
Hammond "discovered" SRV after Bowie did. "Let's Dance" was recorded in January 1983 and three months later Stevie got his record deal at CBS.

Wrong again, slave FORD
I'm all for freedom of speech on message boards and such but I think it shows a real lack of class to berate someone in a memorial thread. RIP David Jones.
Beware of Dog
Just because he's dead, I'm not supposed to say I think he sucked?
John Lennon is dead, and guess what? I think he fucking sucked too.
I'd rather listen to those shitty Clichegar songs Ford posted recently, than listen to ANYTHING by these two dickwads.
The only difference between their sucking is, Lennon just sucked. Blowie did literally and figuratively.
What, Blowie is reading this thread from above?
If so, I hope he had at least one decent song they can release posthumously, because he released nothing but shit while he was alive.
Let's fucking Dance. I bet the terrorists listen to that shit to make themselves even more angry, before they go on their missions.
Fucking faggit music!
Why are you slaves dancing around the video that EVERYONE really wants to see?
John Lennon did suck.
I don't like David Bowie, but I always thought he had some talent, or at least was unique, or something.
I suppose he wrote good songs, but he always ruined them by singing on them.
One way or the other, at least he was a colourful figure that made this world just a bit more interesting.
Vonzie am fucked off at your attituded and am not sending you pics of my Bowie buggy
fuck your fucking framing
Well, that video really seems to have killed the thread.
I guess everyone ran away just so they wouldn't have to defend it, or something.
Admittedly not the best work from either David OR Mick. But infinitely better than anything Winger, Dokken, or that fucking pussy named Janie Lane ever put out.
Now back to the real deal......
Very rare pre-Ziggy single issued under the pseudonym "Arnold Corns"
Not as good as the Spiders from Mars version obviously, but an interesting rarity in any case
A true artist...
Always loved this cover from "Pin Ups"...a Springsteen track of all things, yet pure genius, with Ronny Wood on guitar.
RIP, yer honor.

I had always liked Bowie's 'Station To Station' but not for Bowie.
Bowie's hiring of a young, hungry, Carlos Alomar was a brilliant move.
There are some bad of the baddest guitar riffs ever recorded on that album and it's all due to Alomar. Like Ronson, Bowie shitted all over him.
Some musicians are easy for me to identify with this man was one of my favorites.
The Glass Spider Tour was the last time I saw Bowie live. FORD touched the edge of it, ( those buds were having a good time it was evident on that tour that Bowie was a regular cat with a extraordinary ear) with his finding a beer video short (good stuff) that was when I learned that musicians are only bottled into what we feel for them.. due to what we hear from them. Frampton played guitar for Bowie on that tour and as mentioned I found out in terms that I couldn't deny, what a great guitarist Frampton is. The tour was fenominal.... what you want from Bowie and what you need.
My last purchase of Bowie music was in my mind his best work, Scary Monsters however as mentioned it is of a time ( or was it, this time, each and every time, time was once again as this is, this time ) and what we hear at the time still one of my favorite albums. I know this song in my soul and it isn't a easy listen.
she was tired
you can't hide beat
When I looked in her eyes they were blue but nobody home
She could've been a killer
if she didn't walk the way she do,
and she do
She opened strange doors
that we'd never close again
She began to wail jealousies scream
Waiting at the light know what I mean
[CHORUS (twice)]
Scary monsters, super creeps
Keep me running, running scared
She asked me to stay
and I stole her room
She asked for my love
and I gave her a dangerous mind
Now she's stupid in the street
and she can't socialise
Well I love the little girl
and I'll love her till the day she dies
She wails
Jimmy's guitar sound
jealousies scream
Waiting at the light know what I mean
[CHORUS (twice)]

A good post cdog but ultimately pointless , I am big Bowie fan but coming here to say something meaningful is a bit foolish , the army has a reputation for being a bit irreverent and people were gonna take shots at people if they were trying to be sincere.
It's the army , love it or leave it but long may it remain.
I saw Bowie live a couple of times but I must say the tin machine gig was the best , more intimate very rocky
Only a limey would like Tin Machine.
Tin Machine is like a god damn LG refrigerator full of farts.
Bowie circa 1988
Not sure if your a boy or a girl ........
Go eat a frozen pizza for Jesus or whatever it is you limeys do.
*I'm really baked right now.
Less Bowie - more Winger!!
Winger! GAWD, I used to love watching that show while growing up.
