I'm totally confident that I could on a number of topics. Just not on the radio because he would get Hutch to turn down the volume before I could.
Maybe he'll get better in time. Compared to the first few days he's at least giving people a little more time.
I guess it's a learning process but because of who he is and his stellar ego I'm not sure how long if ever it will take before he'll be able to have a proper debate on the air.
This is a weakness in the show. I think they should probably stick to lighter subjects.

Did they only post a half hour of dave's show for download today? I just checked now (a little late as it is 1:10 a.m. here) but all they have are 2 bits lasting 30 minutes. 702 and 703.
Does anyone have the whole show for today, or did I do something wrong in my download? (maybe looked in the wrong spot?) The iTunes music store only has the broadcast from the 12th

listening to Friday's show today...
Dave spends the first couple weeks sounding all liberal, and then turns the tables on the terrorism/war issue. Interesting. He's probably more of a libertarian than anything.
I'm surprised nobody said anything about Dave's story that he was ready to sign up to work as a medic in Iraq before this show opportunity came up.
I think this show is getting better. Dave's a compelling guy to listen to. I agree that his ego probably keeps it from really being debate, but he does hit on a bunch of topics. Friday's show, for example, went from light celebrity topics all the way up to Iraq, etc
Dave certainly tries to restrain himself (I think restraint will be his biggest challenge in this job) by doing the sit back thing "here's the spotlight!" Of course, it works to varying degrees of success.
I happen to like his interaction with the Bakays. Sure, everyone's agreeing with him, but I bet every guest on that show has to be thinking of this as an audition. If they stick with him and Dave's show succeeds, that's a big deal to these people. Add water, instant career. Even Bakay, who's had some success in the actor/comedian thing, but none of that is exactly a steady job.

Yeah, to me that's the biggest flaw in the whole show- Dave dominating constantly and no one else getting a word in edgewise, callers, sidekicks, or anyone. It's a serious problem and could be the downfall of the whole thing.
Fuck if we, his diehard fans, feel this way, can you imagine how the average listener is reacting? They've got to be thinking, "Jesus Christ, this guy won't shut up..."
Dave seems to think that everyone on the planet is naturally and forever fascinated with his every thought on any given subject.
