We? I think Dave would be a non-entity if a change was made or in the works.

    We.

    Huh.

This probably means that we will witness the birth of the Frankenstein Monster of Van Halen - Dave, Sambo, Edtard, Mike, Godzilla Jr. & The Reverend all together on stage, a huge big clusterfuck of an unhappy family, holding hands & singing bad songs.

    "I can't stop loving JUMP
You know my heart is against the record machine"

And so on & so forth.

Well, not that it really matters at this point one way or the other, but I tend to doubt Bette is back in for the simple fact that I can't imagine Hagar going back to Van Halen without Michael Anthony, and what incentive would Ed have to oust Wolfgang from the band? Ed probably hasn't even spoken to Anthony in a decade.

I'm sure if Halen w/Roth folded, Ed could make a comfortable living flogging his EVH gear. If his former porn fluffer wife has been smart, she would have handled Ed's money from the last 9 years of touring well and Ed should be set.

I suppose that as long as Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are able to step onstage it raises the likelihood of the next generation -- people like EVH and DLR, born in the 50s -- continuing as performers.

But, Sammy Hagar is pretty much Jagger-Richards generation. He'll be 70 next year. He was already -- comparatively speaking -- quite old on his debut album in 1973. He was 27 already. The Van Halens and Dave were trying to knock years off their age for PR purposes when they were only 22-24 years old when VHI was released because they knew that rock-n-roll is / was perceived as a young person's game.

Unless Ed thinks there is a bunch of cash to be made by reuniting with Hagar, what's to be gained by trying to work once again with a guy who is almost ten years older than you and maybe a risk (let's say he dies on tour, or insurance premiums for touring become extortionate or whatever)? Add to that the trashing you received in this same person's autobiography -- it was a helluva trashing, by the way.

And, then, add to that the fact that every year for what? 20-odd years, the ex-singer has tried to append himself to any debate about Van Halen, go public with his bathroom thoughts on what's wrong with Van Halen, or as recently as the last Van Halen album, come out and say it is shit.

Ed would have to be a strange kind of person, a masochist, to work with all that baggage in tow, I think.

Yer, strangely enough, I see what you mean ...

I might say that it was was only the effect of too many drinks that got to me there -- but you are spot on. I have taken leave of my senses. What was I thinking ... it is exactly the kind of thing that Mr Weathervane, EVH, would resort to for some reason only he could rationalize.

And therein lies the problem with the average VH fan.

They tend to try to think things through logically, when they should try to think like Edtard. Which is, of course, impossible anyway.

                    Don't forget what Spammy said in 2015 . . .

When asked if he would ever be willing to speak to Eddie again, Hagar's response was positive, hoping to one day mend that relationship. "That would be really sad if any one of us - I'll put myself in the same category - took this to our graves. That is not where you take things. I would rather go to my grave with no enemies left. I just don't think that would feel right. But who knows. Whatever. It's not my decision because I was the one they pushed out and tried to f**k over. To me, it's up to them to come back and say they're sorry."

"I'm not sorry for anything. I didn't do anything. Matter of fact, I did everything for that band. It was 100 percent my heart and soul and the best I had to give. All I did was make Number One albums and a lot of money. That's all I ever did for the band. Anything that's been done has all been in anger towards myself and now Mikey, too. To me, they need to come and say, 'We're sorry.' And then our job would be to say, 'Great, you're forgiven.' Boom. Not for a reunion or anything like that. That's over, to me. That's completely f**king over. I wouldn't want to be in a band like that right now."

"I'd feel like a hypocrite for joining that band. How about that? There's a good quote for you. If I joined Van Halen right now, I'd feel like the biggest hypocrite in the world. And I'm not a hypocrite."

Now he claims he was as big as Van Halen as a solo act. Wow - he really needs to lay off the mas tequila.

Sammy's new song "Inner Child" which he performs for Dan Rather is so crapalicious that there is no way even Edward would let this poor sap of a musician back in the band now... Dave screeching is better by eons because the song sounds like a child wrote the composition
