Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me
Who's your favourite page?
I'm gonna fax you
Into the atom age, yeah
My engine searching like a harpoon
Like a monsoon in your chat room
Who are you
Are you online?
Woman
Your page or mine
My engine searching like a harpoon
Like a monsoon in your chat room
Oh, oh, ooh
Counter-blast
This is not a test
This is the first phase
This is not a test
This is the atom age
This is not a test
Are you online?
This is not a test
Your page or mine?
Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me
Who's your favourite page?
I'm gonna fax you
Into the atom age, yeah
My engine searching like a harpoon
Like a monsoon in your chat room
Woah, ow
Ow! Forgive me father, for I have sinned
I've been through hell and back again
I shook hands with the devil
Looked 'em in the eye
Looked like a long lost friend
Ow, anything you want, any dirty deeds
He's got everything except what I really need
Keepin' me temporarily satisfied
But not one thing I've tried
Filled me up inside or felt like mine
Mine all mine
Yeah, and the search goes on
The more I look
My world keeps gettin' smaller
Staring at the sun, searchin' for the light
Almost ended up blind
Some only see what they wanna see
Claiming victory, oh, but that's not me
Gimme truth, gimme somethin' real
I just wanna feel like it's mine, all mine
Ooh, really mine
Come on, gimme somethin'
Somethin' that's mine, all mine, all mine
Mine all mine
All the words on the wall
Look the same in the mirror
Every riddle and every clue
Ow, you've got Allah in the east
You've got Jesus in the west
Christ, what's a man to do?
They'll find a cure for anything
Just kill the pain or numb my brain
We see a man speakin' the word of God
Provin' to be a fraud, oh, his own church applauds
Stop lookin' out, start lookin' in
Be your own best friend
Stand up and say
"Hey! This is mine!" ooh, all mine
Yeah and baby you've got somethin'
And I got somethin'
Hey, and it's mine, all mine, all mine
Mine all mine
Mine all mine
Yes, I'm searchin'
Mine all mine
Uh, I got to have it
Mine all mine
Mine all mine
Well
Mine all mine
Got ta, got ta, got to
Mine all mine
Got to have it
Mine all mine
Mine all mine
I voted for Mine All Mine because it's a kick ass song. And because Sammy kicks ass!! And because I bet he could still sing it kinda like the original. Well, his version of singing. Dave can't even pull off Happy Birthday without fucking it up and screeeching and warbling all over the place.
I have to pick Mine All Mine because with Counter-Blast I'm pretty sure some personal assistant in 1998 gave Dave a sheet of paper with a bunch of internet jargon printed on it and said "sing this, it'll make you sound hip and current (to the 50,000 people who are actually going to end up buying this record)!" Dave just sort of went along with it.
Mine All Mine, conversely, is a clear case of Hagar writing that mealy-mouthed, centrist, fence-sitting drivel and thinking it was a revelation. And the music was basically recycled from Dave's 1984 tour samurai sword dance routine, to boot!
Things are looking good, but before any less enlightened members come here & fuck it up, I have to say that Sammy deserves to win this by a landslide, simply because of this unmatched piece of lyricism:
"Ow, you've got Allah in the east
You've got Jesus in the west Christ, what's a man to do?"
Now, any other, less diligent, so called lyricist would've been quite happy with "Allah in the East, Jesus in the West" & called it a day.
But Sammy, our Sammy, my Sammy, your Sammy, always went the extra mile. Always gave it that extra "oomph!" In this case, with the certainly interesting - certainly one way to put it - inclusion of the fan favourite "Christ, what's a man to do?"
So remember, when you vote, to read what it says on the poll. "Vote with your heart."
Fuck this, I go with the 'could have been a tampon commercial song' by Van Hagar...
"Not Enough"
To love somebody naturally
To love somebody faithfully
To love somebody equally
Is not enough
Is not enough
Is not enough
To love somebody secretly
And never touch
To love somebody honestly
And always trust
To love somebody tenderly
The tender touch
Is not enough
Is not enough
Love hurts sometimes
It's not so easy to find, no
Searchin' everywhere
You turn and swear
It's always been there
To love somebody foolishly
Can happen once
To love somebody hopelessly
It hurts so much
To love somebody equally
Is not enough
Is not enough
Is not enough
Love takes a little time
It's not so easy to find, no
Searchin' everywhere
You turn and swear
She's always been there
Standin' there....oh
And if it don't come easily
One thing you must believe
You can always have trust in me
Because my heart will always be
Yours honestly
Love hurts sometimes
It's not so easy to find, no
Searchin' everywhere
Then turn and swear
It's always been there
Standin' there
Love hurts sometimes
Not yours, it's not mine, no
Love's only to share
Turn and swear
It's everywhere
Standin' there
'cause it's always been there
If we compare Dave's body of work vs. Sammy's body of work . . . Sammy doesn't make it out of the first round. Sure Sam has a few good punches but he swings and misses more often than not.
Dave on the other hand connects time after time with hard stinging punches that always leads him to the knockout and undisputed Champion.
