No, Trevor Noah replaced Jon Stewart. Though John Oliver did fill in as "temporary" host of the Daily Show a couple years back while Jon Stewart was making a movie. HBO was impressed enough to give him his own gig. "Last Week Tonight" is fairly similar to "The Daily Show", of course. But it only airs once a week, on Sunday nights.

I wish Comedy Central had locked John Oliver into a contract though, because I believe he would have been a much better perrmanent host of The Daily Show than Trevor Noah is. Samantha Bee probably would have been too... and now she's defected to TBS with her own weekly show. And of course Colbert went to CBS. So the old team broke up and are now spread all over the damn place.
