Van halen scrapbook - twitter account

Hey guys, for the past 4 years I have been compiling photographs, interviews, transcribing interviews, locating newspaper articles, ticket stubs, Ebay finds, t-shirts and memorabilia to create a massive Van Halen Scrapbook. I simply don't know if Van Halen will ever get around to telling their own story, or if they even want to. And let's face it, nobody is getting any younger and the medium for which Van Halen is able to release any sort of material is going away. Who buys CD's let alone boxsets anymore? It's getting just as bad for DVD's and Blu Rays. All of the stuff in their vaults should have been out 20 years ago.

I see so many photos online and I would ask myself where was this taken? I wanted to find out those answers. I wanted to match those photos with a quote. There are a lot of sites like Getty images which offers a lot of photos but the dates are way off and sometimes there are no dates at all. So I have to track all of those dates down. I have to look at the tour dates to see if the band was even around, try to match wardrobe to photo. It's very analytical. Just when I think there is no more, I uncover a whole new outlet of info. I wanted to bring all of these photos together - Photos that have been thrown into the wind and used in peoples blogs.

I know nothing like this could ever be released - There are way too many people involved - Too many Copyrights etc. I have everything broken down year by year and I thought about putting each year into a PDF, maybe uploading it into a Torrent file or something for the fans. It's just a massive amount of interviews, photos, etc.

Well, what a dark horse is old Rob. This is from a 1979 copy of the British music weekly, New Musical Express that I chanced upon recently.

Wonder if he told Dave about his exploits in the pornos - 'explicit scenes with three or four girls ... it wasn't pleasant' ...
