Would have been a much better show in 1973, of course.

But when was the last time you saw an entire festival lineup made up of bands who actually write songs and play instruments. And (with the possible exception of Daltrey) can sing without help from a computer.

The only place you could currently find a better concert lineup than this, would of course be HELL!

Maybe Keef did get the boys back in the studio and this is part of a fall tour supporting a new album.

The songwriting talent of the headliners in a historical sense is undeniable.

Far as performing abilities go, I think I'll give this gig a miss (even the $399 3-day minimum ticket price, plus factoring in travel, food and lodgings, nope...not worth it to me anymore...1973 would have been another story) and wait until I get to hell.

Already seeing Paul McCartney here in August. Ticket was a little more than the Desert Trip single day GA ticket, but the travel is much more manageable.

What a fucking joke. As if these millionaires don't have enough of their fans money as it is. McCartney, Roger Waters, Who and the Stones? All limeys who need to go the fuck back home and stay there.

So I guess that "Promise Of The Real", who will be backing Neil Young at this gig is Lukas Nelson's band. As in, son of Willie. They were on Colbert last night (without Neil)....

Unlike his dad, Lukas prefers electric guitars, but he's definitely inherited the talent. Kinda has a 70's Southern Rock vibe to it.

I am not denying Paul McCartney may know his way round a tune or two but his recent version of lets go crazy by prince was fucking awful. He played all the notes but not necessarily in the right order.

Maybe a bit short, but it gives you an idea of how delirious the ambiance was...

I guess this wasn't the highlight. If they really "had to" play a Beatles tune, why this one, which isn't exactly the most kickass?
