Any of you guys been watching the Netflix show Stranger things ?

Just finished it , it was really good but I think I squeeze nicely into the demographic they were trying to hit.
Scored 9.1 @ IMDb if you take notice of those things.

Would von like it ...... Doubtful . That's actual what the tag line says on the advert to get more people to watch it

Watched the first two episodes of this last night. Probably will work the rest in over the weekend, since there's only 8 episodes.

Seems like they're trying to merge several 80s movies into one. ET meets Fargo meets the typical Stephen King "kid with weird powers" movie meets Predator meets whatever.

Barely recognized Winona Ryder. She's aged a lot since the last time I saw her in anything.

Another show that's made a bit of an effort with the sound track, quite interesting selection of songs on the show

Binge watched it over the weekend.

Found Wynona a bit annoying and the actions of the chief of police illogical a lot of the time.

Overall not bad, good 1980s vibe about it. Not sure I'll bother with season 2, it feels like they will just dig themselves deeper into 'Lost' style senselessness the longer they go on...

Be interesting to see where they take it from here. Are they going to expand on the chief's back story - his kid with cancer, etc. (seems random to have the flashbacks otherwise). Will they find some loophole by which "11" manages to come back from blowing herself up (along with the alien whatever the fuck it was)

Or will they take the "American Horror Story"/"Fargo" approach and come up with a totally different set of characters and storylines? Which might actually be more sustainable in the long run, because basing a show around a bunch of pre-teen kids can only work until their balls drop and the facial hair comes in.

I'm working my way through it one episode a week. I do that with all the shows I watch on Netflix(Penny Dreadful, Broadchurch , The Marvel shows...etc). I like to digest each episode for a week.
So far it has been very good, a nice homage to sci fi/horror of the 80's.

He doesn't speak for all Americans. Some of us still have a little respect for the guys we booted back across the great pond in the late 1700s. You showed mucho bravery to give us another try a few years later. Too bad for you the results were the same. Who knows, after Hillary's been in office a few years (if she don't drop dead first) you might be glad we won those wars.
