Watched all 8 episodes over the last couple days. I liked it, even though I found some parts borrowed from movies. Love the synthy soundtrack (that's for Vandy!), that's the kind of stuff I've been working up lately. Cast was good, not a big Winona Ryder fan but watching her get manic was fun.

And there's the "how much bad/odd shit can happen to the same group of people" that plagues a lot of shows.

Gonna watch season 2, but not going to have high expectations....
Speaking of TV shows in general, did anyone here watch 'Six Feet Under' way back when? Just finished the series, and thought it was quite good, especially the final episode, although the later seasons were not as good IMO....

I did one last night, found myself checking that 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' was indeed released in 1984...

Dustin uses a Post-It Note in one of the episodes. Those came out in 1977. Had to Google that one too!

Can't sleep, watched three more. Got two left, there are nine this season.

Forget the plot, the most important thing is to catch them out with something out of period, they are bound to slip up at some point!

There are currently 6 on IMDB, I'm not sure about the 'chill' one, it feels like we were saying it earlier...
During several of the nighttime searches, characters use flashlights with modern bulbs (identifiable by their blue-white color and visibly different from the yellow-orange hue of period-correct flashlights). Ironically, if they had all used modern bulbs, the error wouldn't be nearly so obvious.

The teenage characters frequently use the phrase "chill" to mean hang around. In 1983, "chill" would have been used as a command to someone the speaker perceived to be overexcited about something. "Chill" didn't mean "hang out" until some point in the 1990's.

The story line predates many of the vehicles. The police chief drives a K5 Blazer with a facelift package which didn't come out until the next year, the buses all appear to be from the 90s - especially the bus on the International chassis near the end of Episode 8, which clearly has the 90s/2000s "anteater" style hood.

The police light-bar on the Chief Hopper's 1980 Blazer is a Code 3 MX7000, manufactured by Public Safety Equipment, which was not sold until the mid-1990's.

While the HK MP-5K submachinegun carried by the Chief and the MPs/bad men existed as early as 1976 several characters are seen carrying MP-5K PDWs (identified by an attached sidefolding stock) which was not introduced until 1991.

A number of times you can see the bad guys using Crosman 2240 airguns but they were not introduced until 1999.

There's a white Jeep Grand Wagoneer with tinted windows in the first couple episodes. Mine is an '89 and doesn't have tint. I'll have to ask pops if they came with tint from the factory in '84.

Just finished the last episode. This season wasn't as good as the first one.

Some of the Chevy Caprice cop cars have headlights that were introduced in 1987. I had an '84 Caprice Classic and it had sealed-beam headlights, two low beam, two high. Some of the other cars have CHMSL (center high mounted stop light), which wasn't required until 1986.

Dig Dug only used three characters for it's high score names.

Last year, we reveled in the ‘80s-tastic nostalgia-porn of Stranger Things, and, predictable bastard I am, wrote about all of the period cars used in the series. Season two was released last Friday, and over the weekend sweet, loyal Jalopnik readers were already all over my ass to do this again for the new series.…

LOL! I played a lot of Dig Dug but I can't honestly remember.

You would think it would be easier to get a hold of an original machine than to recreate it. I guess it could be a PC emulator and so has removed the limit or is it a plot point?
