I heard this song a few dozen times on the radio before seeing this video, and if anybody else has heard the song, I will bet that you also never imagined this was what the singers looked like.....



It's like somebody took "O Brother Where Art Thou", and Johnny Cash's prison gigs, mixed them up into a blender and poured it into a black gospel church on Sunday morning......

Heard this song on a college radio station back last spring. Thought is was some older band with a black singer say from New Orleans or something.
Blown away. Bought the CD - this band is f'ing great!

Now that you mention it, there is a resemblance. Of course, being an old folk singer himself, Burl probably would have appreciated this musical blend of genres.

I'm also thinking this song must have been at least partially inspired by The Clash's attempt at gospel on their Sandanista album way back when....
