I saw what I saw, heard what I heard and what I saw was a sub par performance by Roth and a lot more effort to entertain the home town crowd by Hagar and company. But Sammy did have the advantage of closing. But compared to the way Dave vocalized on the last couple of tours he (Roth) was fanfuckingtastic.

When I caught the 2002 tour I didn't stay for Sam's set. But Dave was on fire that nite here in Charlotte. Or at least I thought so, I was kinda buzzed up that nite.

Maybe but he's kind of treading water at this point too with a 25th anniversary tour of Passion And Warfare.

It's really sad the whole gaggle of musicians can't see the tremendous opportunity they leave on the table. In Ricardo Montalban Fantasy Island, they could do a VH Festival tour, with every incarnation of VH and the Bastard off shoots playing throughout a day and just have a killer tour, with the Classic VH headlining. By that I mean Hagar, Chickenfoot, DLR EEAS band , Van Hagar, Van Halen w/Wolfgang, & the Mighty VH-

That seems like WAY too much work for Ed and Al

Ya know, Dave doin EEAS is really the best thing for him to do. He's been back with them for, like, 9 years or some shit, and I feel like we all got our "closure" on the VH story. The last tour was fine, and closing the book on VH and doing something like EEAS is really a great move for Dave... ESPECIALLY since the brothers are so fuckin bitter about everything. Who needs that kinda negativity in their life??? Although the paychecks will be smaller, it's a great idea. I fully expected the VH monkeys to bring Hagar back at some point anyways... I don't know WHY, but I did. EEAS will be great-I mean, none of us is getting any younger, and we gotta rock fuckin ass while we still can, and judging by the brothers' moderate lack of enthusiasm on the last tour, it's time to go out & rock with a RIDICULOUS band.
