Aerosmith announce 2017 European farewell tour

Aerosmith have announced a run of European dates for 2017 – billed as Aero-Vederci Baby Farewell Tour.

They'll kick off the 17-date tour in Tel Aviv, Israel, on May 17 and wrap up in Zurich, Switzerland, on July 5. It includes their previously announced headlining slot at Download festival on June 11.

The dates are announced as Aerosmith finish up a South American tour.

Frontman Steven Tyler says: "Aerosmith just got done ripping through South America like true ambassadors of rock. The band is unstoppable right now and in Europe, we're going to keep doing what we do best – Let The Music Do The Talking, Living On The Edge and living to rock another day."

Guitarist Joe Perry: “It’s been three years since we have been on tour in Europe and I can speak for my brothers that we can’t wait to get over there and take it up a few notches. Last tour in South America we were running on all cylinders and I can see no reason to let up now."

Tickets for the majority of the Aero-Vederci tour dates will be on sale on November 18.

At first, it's "yay, no more Aerosmith!" and then it becomes "oh shit, more Steven Tyler solo career!"

This is a Brexit European tour - 1 festival gig.

Of course I wouldn't have bothered anyway, lost interest a long time ago. Too many ballads and too many backing tapes...

I should have gone in the early 90's when the Black Crowes opened. Wouldn't bother with an Aerosmith show now.

I've only seen a handful of live shows since 1990. I saw Aerosmith at the Forum in 92/93 but I can't seem to recall anything about their set. Jackyl opened and stole the show.

I saw them at the Stones concert along with the Scorpions. Tyler dancing at the mixbord like crazy desperate for attention. Close enough for me.

Every time I see Steven Tyler, I keep thinking of "The Graduate". Would you like me to seduce you? NO!!!!

Only saw them once...guess it was with Pride & Glory opening, Zakk Wylde's first solo venture. Must have been 1993, 1994ish? Seemed like it was an OK show, but I don't remember much about it.

Every time I see his daughter, I think slightly the opposite.
