If you never had the pleasure of having Hitch fuck with you, you missed out. I think the best one he got me with, was when he made my desktop show up either in my posts, or my sig. I didn't know I was the only one that could see it, and thought everybody could see into my computer! Ha ha ha! I still have no fucking idea how he did that.

Many people that will respond will have only known Hitch through his on-line presence. As I have. But after so many years, and the fact that some of us got to know each other better (or more personally) through facebook this hits hard. You will meet (better word is interact) very few people that will not only stand out, but will shine because of the unique person they are. Hitch was all that for many of us in the internet world. Talked with the man many times online, and was glad to have had the chance to get to know him better. My heart goes out to his family, and there are no words to make something like this better. But i can't help feeling the least bit sorry for myself as I no longer have the man either. Shine on you crazy man, and God bless....Igo

Hmmm....Its a strange feeling to mourn someone you never met, but somehow feel you knew.
Hitch scared me, fascinated me, and had me admiring him (!!) for a variety of reasons. Not all of them were good, but they were all deserving!
I recall being surprised to find out he had a 'regular' name! Ha!! Brilliant mind, for sure.

His acceptance to the next life was undoubtedly due to his glorious contributions to the betterment of mankind via his digital incubator hitchworld1969.com©. It was through here that he touched (without being asked) the lives of many across the country.
He was also a pretty friggin' rad father. Virtually unscathed by the dark and infectious world around him, Doug was always capable of handing out unconditional love, especially in the direction of his offspring.
Doug is survived by his children, Mason Hitchens, Bethany Hitchens, Lee Hitchens and Doug Hitchens III; sister, Melissa Berger and husband, Mike Berger, children, Athena and Tristan Berger; mother, Linda Tarnoff and husband, Bernie Tarnoff; father, Doug Hitchens Sr. and wife Sheryl Hitchens and son, Dawson Hitchens.
Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Tuesday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service 2:00 pm, Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Home.

I'm still absolutely crushed over this. I tried my best to notify everyone I could to pay their respects. It's been a great honor to know you the past 17 years, since the beginning when you destroyed the Diamond Mafia, to knowing the real you and your other side never seen on message boards. I still remember our last conversation about your wanting to bring back hitchworld , and I'll do everything I can to bring it back. I didn't want to run the site unless you were involved and flappo was ready, I'll do whatever I can do so your Internet legacy is never forgotten. Maybe hitch1996 will be involved.
