Dokken's "In My Dreams" Solo Lesson by George Lynch

Ahoy hoy it's old man Sesh here....

I may be the last person to find this out but I thought it was pretty amazing anyhoo.

Back in the olden times 30 some years ago I used to have this one on a mix tape on my walkman mainly because of the guitar solo but I only found out this week that hammer one bit wasn't tapping.

I'm sure almost no one cares but for the other few of you who get this - wow.

Also it reminded me again that 50% of people that comment on guitar playing YouTube videos are literally the worst people alive at the moment, negative delusional bedroom guitarist cunts that should just kill themselves immediately.

I always liked the transition from the solo into the heavy riff. Of course 30 years later I figure it was punched in and maybe not done live in the studio.

      My second favorite guitarist ever.

I know Don Dokken has been a dick throughout his career, but other than that I don't understand why they get such a bad rap. They have some of the best riffs, in some kick ass songs.

It reminded me of him. Lots of people saying how they are muuuch better than Lynch and others furiously complaining because he finger picks a bit of the solo saying he didn't used to.

Back in the day when this was released, I was still somewhat under the impression that many solos were single takes, even though I knew about overdubbing.

Great, great solo, though. Really, one of the best overall tunes Dokken ever did, in terms of the song itself being pretty solid, the performances all around were pretty good, and Lynch came up with a memorable solo that restrained his impulses to just throw everything and the kitchen sink into it.
