It's always been somewhat mystifying to me as to exactly why Ryan got the reputation of being a "wonk" on healthcare in the first place. At least in terms of the substance of his ideas once they are looked at closely beyond his sound bytes. I mean, doubtless that claim of "Ryan is a wonk who knows the math when it comes to healthcare" will tend to stick if it is (as it has been) repeated in enough periodicals and on enough television programs. Beyond the pithy veneer, Ryan's claims of what his plan will do don't match up to the reality of it: the math simply doesn't add up.

Even the ACA itself was nothing other than a first step toward addressing the structural underlay and future problems Americans face with regard to purchasing affordable healthcare within an aging population facing stagnating wages. It was merely a start. It certainly wasn't a moon shot. Ryan's current proposal is mere tinkering. Diddling around with what is in place in a manner that will sharply underfund a program that wasn't exactly overfunded to begin with, while simultaneously implying that prior to the ACA the system which was largely run by health insurance companies itself hadn't been subject to simultaneous risings in costs and cutbacks in services year after year.

It's a canard that Ryan has repeated for 8 years, but repetition doesn't make it any more true now than it was when he first started uttering it. You can say 2 + 2 = 5 all you like, and perhaps even convince yourself and others it is true. The CBO will likely, based on facts and historical financial data, disagree. Doubtless such a disagreement will be chalked up to a pervasive amount of Obama holdovers in the government trying to undermine the Republican Party.

The fatal conceit of Ryan's power point presentation vividly illustrates that he clearly doesn't understand how insurance industries work in terms of wide nets, risk pooling and large amounts of policyholders and how all of that combines to either lower costs on average or at least keep costs from rising in double digit percentages annually. If he can't get the fundamentals right, it's in no way surprising that his prognostications will get the details wrong.

Granted, no plan is perfect. Not every circumstance of every policy holder is within Ryan's (or any one insurance companies) control. Misrepresenting what a plan will and won't do is something virtually every Congressional Republican jumped all over Obama on from 2008 through today, and rightfully so in some instances as the ACA was rolled out. Our elected representatives in Congress should be prepared to both withstand and answer to whatever questions and criticisms are levelled at RyanCare going forward. Coherent answers which demonstrate a command of the facts. Surely, that is the minimum of what one should expect from their politicians regardless of party, no?

Gawd, you truly are a fucking idiot. The ACA had zilch to do with health care reform; the whole blueprint of the ACA was health insurance reform. From its conception it was drafted written by the health insurance industry to sustain industry rationing of healthcare based on economic class, race, gender and age. ACA wasn't a "mere start" but a clusterfuck that opened the floodgates to what we are now seeing. No question Ryan pro-murder of the poor is only a piece in the puzzle of a bigger corporate monster that cannot be controlled.

Eddie's puppet masters are offering up some big money to anybody who votes for this piece of shit....

Meanwhile, Cheeto has threatened to primary any Republican who votes against it, which also probably involves Koch money being funneled to their opponents.

And since many of the current Republicans are complete cowards, some of them will cave to all of the above. Only question is whether or not it will be enough to keep this rancid piece of shit alive.

Of course they claim it will die in the Senate in either case, but with treasonous fucks like Joe Manfromthecoalcompanysballsonmychin siding against his supposed party on every fucking vote, it's hard to say that for certain.

Ryan is for sale. Simple as that. As are most the politicians no matter what side of the isle they sit. They take special interest money and they do the bidding. To have a long career in politics you just need to be dependent on the special interest. If you want a short career in politics be independent and un-controllable. You will make all sorts of enemies.

It's why you will never truly have government ran healthcare. We have the best government money can buy. Democrats. Republicans. All the same. The special interest will just bribe the politicians and take over healthcare even if the government is running it. So the only answer is diversification and competition. All you do by consolidating how things run is make a monopoly for the special interest. So you counter that by having things ran at the state level. Get the federal government out of it and then allow people to buy health insurance over state lines and the increased competition lowers the prices. Counties have ran some excellent hospitals. Better than the Veterans hospitals which are ran by the federal government. Yeah some counties and states will have better hospitals but that's life. It' the way it's always been. Have national healthcare and a few big special interests will run it. Just like so many contracting firms actually run large parts of our government. If you want Halliburton or the equivalent to be in charge of your healthcare then go for government ran healthcare. Politicians are just dependent panderers to the special interests and make long-term careers of it. The only answer is decentralization of control and increased competition. That makes it harder for anyone to make a killing.

More of your pseudo-left horseshit. The Koch's know if this Bill does go through it will mean the sudden death of many of their GOP puppets. The last thing the Koch suckers want is a Democrat majority led Senate and House for decades to come over this Bill. The GOP will be a faint memory in 2020 and they fucking know that. No GOP Senator has taken Trump's threats seriously because they know his days are numbered and really, many of them no longer wish to be a part of his ongoing mental illness and national/international embarrassment. What you are about to witness is a fracturing of the GOP and it's starting right now over this insane Bill.

If Trump can't repeal Obamacare it's the end of Trump. The Koch's know the Democrats will take their money and they can buy them. They own the Republicans. It's not complicated. They all are politicians. Got money, you own most them. The Kochs want Trump gone because they can't control him. Simple as that. The partisan politics is just a dog and pony show. It's pro-wrestling. Trump is an outsider. It's why the Republicans are undermining him.
