The REAL King of Rock n Roll. No offense to Elvis - a great performer and an icon, but Chuck did a Hell of a lot more to create the music itself.
The Rolling Stones & Ac/Dc proudly claim Chuck's lineage, and every band that came after them built on it one way or another. The Beatles were big fans too, for that matter.
90's not a bad run for anybody, much less a rock n roller who certainly outlived damn near all of his peers (I think Jerry Lee Lewis & Little Richard are still around, but otherwise.... Think that's about it.)
Chuck will definitely be missed, but never forgotten.

Years ago, we had to suffer through the mediocrity of folks like Chuck Berry & Elvis. Thankfully, today we have a talent pool like Justin Bieber & Kanye West, Timberlake, and Three 6 Mafia. The jealous inane persecutors that rode your coattails don't know what you meant to us.
I am fortunate to have been in the audience for 10 Chuck Berry shows.
Every guitar player, every guitar stage performer, every lead singer with a guitar OWES Chuck Berry.
Chuck was the guy that broke the shell. Chuck's writing was part of the performance.
Chuck Berry is the reason there is rock guitar.
