High Life Man (10-12-2017)
That. Looks. Great....

From the guy that brought you Veep, a new comedy with 95% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Good comedy movies are incredibly rare.
TBH I stopped watching the trailer at 1 minute in case too many good jokes were burned.
In related news...filming on the Han Solo spinoff movie is almost complete, and supposedly a teaser trailer already exists. Maybe they'll show it before The Last Jedi.
The Solo movie is still set for a May release. It'll be interesting to see what Ron Howard does with it.
Well Kathy Kennedy sacked the Lego boys for making it midnight run in space so gonna be less laughs in it than originally ..
The death of Stalin trailer is really good
Ghey. Stupid limey film. Shit limey actors, shit limey plot.
Only fags and David Lee Roth homosexuals would like this shit

Stupid writer from the Plain Dealer put plot points in her review. "The First Order has..."
I read a bunch of reviews Tuesday and not one had any plot points or spoilers, until I got to her review. Most of the reviews were about the pace, the look, the acting, and the character development. CNN's review was the only one I read that wasn't good.
Five hours to go...
The rumor is that it turns out the Force is $$$$
I'm kind of put off a bit by the 2 1/2 hours running time and living in an all female house no one else wants to go...

It's good!
There are a couple small WTF dumb things I didn't like, but I will wait until more of you see it before I mention them.
Probably going to go again Saturday, my nephew's wife won't watch it and someone's gotta watch the kid anyways.

Can’t get there until Monday but my cynical brother said it was against all odds shockingly good.
Review .... shockingly good

Four people I work with went over the weekend. Two hated it, one loved it, the other was "meh."
beware, spoilers!

Yeah listening to the main BBC movie podcast the 'expert' liked it a lot but the listener reviews were 50-50.
New Star Wars movies are a bit weird I think because people seem to bring their own agenda. Like I think has been discussed around here already, people saw the original ones when they were kids and then years later when the prequels came out were angry that they seemed 'childish' because they hadn't grown up with them. Then you have a bunch of people annoyed because the new Star Trek show had a single 'fuck' said.
I've never watched a whole one of the Lucas prequels, what I caught on TV never encouraged me to.
A good interview here on the main chat show Graham Norton with the cast last Friday, Luke was good fun. You'll find the other 40 minutes elsewhere online I'm sure...
Only thing I found odd was there are a couple of jokes and they bomb , it was like who added those.
They just landed flat.
Now even the fucking "white nationalist alt right" types are trying to project themselves into Star Wars....

Star Wars actor Alfie Curtis dies aged 87
3 hours ago
Alfie Curtis, who played Dr Evazan in Star Wars: A New Hope, has died at the age of 87.
The London-born actor had also appeared in the 1980 film The Elephant Man and the 80s UK TV series Cribb.
His Star Wars character famously threatened Luke Skywalker at Mos Eisley Cantina in the first of the original trilogy in 1977, telling him: "I have the death sentence on 12 systems".
Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, tweeted his tribute to Alfie Curtis.
He called him a "funny, kind" man who helped provide "one of the most memorable [scenes] I've ever been a part of".
"Alfie Curtis made the #Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina scene (one of the most memorable I've ever been a part of) even MORE memorable. As horrific as he was on-camera, off-camera he was funny, kind & a real gentleman," he wrote.
"Thanks Alf- you'll be missed. #RIP."
