Who knows but I think both Stone and Bannon are borderline insane but also have less actual influence and power than some people think/wish/fear.

Then again Trump seems to agree with the last person he met who sucked up to him so basically it's all about how much those 2 do these days, my sense was there has been a concerted effort to reduce their influence.

Stone has been a longtime mud trafficker. Talking 4 + decades. His power is limited to the effectiveness of whatever smears he is currently peddling.

Bannon has been a longtime wannabe political player. He piggybacked onto Breitbart after Andrew died, and saw an opportunity with Trump when Trump announced and made all those statements about Mexican rapists and the like to back a candidate who shared his nativist views. Bannon was, what, the third or fourth Trump campaign manager, and took that role on fairly late into the campaign. In fairness, Bannon's candidate ended up winning, but not necessarily because of anything Bannon did in terms of that 'Great Manipulator' image Bannon has cultivated in the media.

We'll see with Bannon how the Bannon-backed candidates do in these various special elections: Bannon's Moonshot may well end up being limited to one candidate, Trump, who might well have one even if Bannon hadn't been involved with his campaign.

To be sure, both Bannon and Stone are a couple of characters. Insane or crazy like a pair of foxes? Who knows?
