Most politicians actually believe in nothing other than sticking their finger up in the air and saying what their voting base wants to hear. Then they tend to actually do what the people buy them want because politicians know most the voting public doesn't even pay attention. The reality is if you live in a Democratic area it's an advantage to have a D by your name on the ballot and if you live in a Republican area it's an advantage to have an R by your name. I had an uncle who thought he would run for office because he thought he could make a difference. He actually was a church going conservative and had an impressive list of accomplishments on his resume from being an educator most his life. He busted his ass campaigning and even had great looking posters and T-shirts but he lost by a landslide. He was really bummed. My dad pointed out to him he was a Democrat running in a Republican district and the old Republican hack who really didn't do anything mopped the floor with him. He had an R by his name on the ballot. That's 90 percent of the game and that is why politics is politics.

Officer's response praised as Maryland school shooting ends quickly

In the latest school shooting in America, the gunfire was over and done with in less than a minute.

This time, the shooter, a 17-year-old student, was killed. Authorities said a 16-year-old girl who had some type of relationship with the shooter was critically wounded, and a 14-year-old boy also was wounded.

The school resource officer who responded inside of 60 seconds and fired off a shot at the attacker was praised as a hero.

The violence erupted as classes were beginning Tuesday at Great Mills High School in southern Maryland, in a community where many families have military ties, with parents working at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station or Andrews Air Force Base.

It came a month after 17 people were killed at a Florida high school, and intensified calls for Congress to act on gun violence at school.

Eagles of Death Metal's Jesse Hughes Slams March for Our Lives Protests

Eagles of Death Metal's Jesse Hughes, a survivor of a mass-shooting incident, called the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School "disgusting vile abusers of the dead" for participating in the March for Our Lives protest.

Hughes penned his tirade in the caption of an Instagram post that mocked gun control and the efforts for stricter gun laws. "Obviously … The best thing to do to combat chronic abusers and disregarders of the law (like the law against Murder) is to ... pass another Law," Hughes wrote. "But before we pass this law we're going to denigrate the memory and curse ourselves by exploiting the death of 16 of our fellow students for a few Facebook likes and some media attention."

"Look how well civil rights abuses as it concerns firearms helped to protect me and my friends in Paris," Hughes added. Eagles of Death Metal were onstage at Paris' Bataclan on the night of November 13th, 2015, when armed terrorists stormed the venue and killed 89 people, including the band's merchandise manager.

"As the survivor of a mass shooting I can tell you from first-hand experience that all of you protesting and taking days off from school insult the memory of those who were killed and abuse and insult me and every other lover of liberty by your every action," Hughes wrote.
