Hagar's stuff...it's just a bunch of bumper-sticker gibberish. Always has been. Sung in an over-emoted manner, so if one doesn't pay attention to what he his singing vs. how he is singing it, Hagar's stuff might well sound profound. Like, profound if you are, say, a world class rock guitar player with a drinking problem.
I had to laugh back in 1996 when Eddie was bitching about Sammy's lyrical treatments on the stuff they were working on circa the Twister movie period, where Eddie was saying Hagar was unable to come up with profound lyrics to match the music Eddie was writing: I was like, um, it took Ed until 1996 to figure out Hagar was a mediocre hack?
