Bob Marley ripped off Banana Splits

Bob's "Buffalo Soldier" was recorded in 1980 and released in 1983.
"The Tra La La La Song" is the theme song to the Banana Splits and it came out in 1968. It was written by Mark Barkan and Ritchie Adams.

That actually crossed my mind the first time I heard "Buffalo Soldier" decades ago. But considering the Kroft people who made Banana Splits, HR Pufnstuff, and all those other early 70s shows had to be smoking some serious weed, I'm sure they took it as a serious honor that Marley "borrowed' from them.

The Bob Marley Foundation say it's a coincidence (they would).

Everyone knows though that stoners love watching kids TV especially stuff like the Banana Splits.
