In the 80s/90s I must have seen a dozen bar and wedding bands do shitty versions of Jump. The keyboard player would think well I can do the riff and solo, the guitarist would think well I can make an (usually mediocre) effort at that guitar solo it's a #1 pop song how difficult can it be?
I would wait for the first prechorus and their inevitable fail and smile.
Nowadays with the interweb and YouTube it's a bit easier to learn how this song is much more complex than it first appears so standards are a bit higher. -
If I remember correctly, Roth hated that song. But it made him a boat load of money. So he still ends gigs with Jump.Comment
