My father in law worked for Boeing. What he was involved with was warhead delivery systems. He held a higher security clearance than Bill Clinton did when he was president. He said he worked a lot of overtime in a stressful job to make sure the US always had first strike capability over the Soviet Union. He knows so much that he cannot travel to certain countries even in his retirement.

He told me right now his main worry is a EMP attack on the US. The US has don nothing to harden our power grid against such an attack. This would mean no electricity for years because all the large transformers would need to be replaced. That’s a huge job.

Second China and Russia have been very aggressive on building first strike weapons. He said in another five years China and Russia combined would be a force to be reckoned with. Both a China and Russia can put most their population into bunkers they have been building. Russia is even having drills. Also Russia and China have huge underground weapons manufacturing facilities.

He said he’s worried Russia and China will combine and make a EMP strike in the US and then follow up with nuclear first strikes on US military facilities. Once that’s done they can bully the rest of the world into submission and then try and undermine each other.

So Zahzoo you have a point. My in-laws no longer live in Seattle because it’s a prime nuclear target because of the technology and military facilities there.

While we were wasting time and money and resources on wars for profit in the Middle East and as our crooked politicians in fight trying to avoid prison or trying to take their competition out, China and Russia are very aggressive in developing weapons they can hit us with.

We are really weak right now and our potential enemies know it. If they can take the US out they have the rest of the world. That greed motivates them and forget about sane in today’s world. How many world leaders today seem sane?

Welcome to the new Cold War and it’s worse than the last one. Last time we were not economically entangled with our enemy. Plus we have plenty of traitors in our government and corporations who put the Chinese Communist Party above the United States. Now if you are Xi and Putin and watching the freak show over here, yeah. Quite tempting to go for it and swat it.

I think I read that the real difficulty is that to build large transformers you need large transformers. That means if we got hit by an EMP from the sun the planet could be really fucked.

EMP's are a definite threat as are the typical conventional weapons mentioned...

State sponsored cyber security exploits are currently on a dramatic rise globally. Financial systems and power infrastructure are popular targets that could cripple the US and most of Europe significantly. Those are two key areas that are really at risk...

Also probably a bad thing for Trump to give a massive boost to ISIS giving them a chance to do a Rocky style come back...

Only a simpleton would blame one person for those kind of problems. Having HW Bush and Bill Clinton sell us out to the Chinese Communist Party didn’t help. Having lot’s of people getting compromised and bought off brought us to where we are and it’s beyond the simple partisan political games.

Probably not much of an ISIS threat for cyber from the mud huts and caves in Syria... plus their money flow has been pretty much disrupted. Eastern block and former Russian outfits along with Russia, China, North Korea and Iran pose a far great cyber threat.

I never meant that ISIS is an immediate threat in those ways, just saying that allowing our Kurd allies to be attacked and that meaning that a couple of hundred ISIS prisoners escape not so great...

If you look into this even a bit, even ignoring the horrible morality of screwing over the Kurd allies anyone that knows anything Republican or not thinks it was a terrible idea.

3 years in with Trump we've been incredibly lucky that nothing super major dangerous has come up as long as you aren't a Kurd.

Allowing the Kurd allies, who created one of the finest beacons of democracy, be slaughtered and pushed by the Turks is fucking inexcusable!

The next terror attack, or peer-enemy war, forget about having allies...

Your ignorance is staggering. Turkey, by way of NATO, is our only "legal" ally. The Kurds, who really only care about taking territory that doesn't belong to them, fought ISIS on their behalf, not ours, so that they could take more land.
They are an offshoot of the PKK, considered by most to be a terrorist group. Not saying they're terrorist, but their lineage is questionable. Would you rather piss-off the Kurds or go to war with Turkey? It's a no win situation like all of the Middle East issues. Thus we pull out and find other ways to achieve our interests.

They've fought with Greece in the past, also our 'legal NATO ally" and did nothing for us after 9/11. They're also led by an Islamist gov't more or less...

Thy are not an off-shoot of the PKK you ignorant sister-fucker. There is no evidence that the YPG colludes with the PKK. Even of they do, what gives Turkey any right to invade Syria? Why should we leave Syria to the Iranians and Russians anyways?

    They helped us fight ISIS!

I've really grown ambivalent over the whole Middle East situation... any move the US makes there, fucks something up for somebody. The frustrating part is there's no end to violence and bullshit among all those people, governments, tribes, factions, etc...

The first thing we need to stop doing is get caught up in the idiotic Saudis vs. Iranians thing...

The House of Saud has amassed one of the largest, most technically sophisticated arsenals in the Middle East for its incompetent, panicky military. Yet we still send the troops...

When you say amassed this huge arsenal you mean of course we've sold them it in return for tons of cash some of which goes back to the politicians who approved it.

Of course it's incredibly likely at some point one way or another these weapons will be turned on us. Propping up murderous dictators has never ended well for the West - Iran, Cuba, Central America...

Holy shit you're dumber than dirt. Do I have to look it up for you and provide a link? What gives the Kurds the right to take Syrian land?

The Kurds are allies to whoever pays them. We went into Iraq based on a lie. We have been stuck there and in Afghanistan for close to two decades. We created a huge refuge crisis because we destabilized Libya.

China would love to keep us bogged down in the Middle East. We waste resources there as they build their military up and become more aggressive.

Now if anyone thinks we should stay in the Middle East and fight for God knows what I will buy them a plane ticket and they can go fight with the Kurds or whoever. If you can secure some oil and sell it good for you! They make excellent olive oil soap in Syria. Maybe you can take Aleppo and export soap and become rich. Maybe you can share the spoils with your Kurdish friends.

It’s called the Military Industrial Complex. Eisenhower warned about it in his exit speech. You create conflict so you can make money off the wars. While we have been wasting our resources in the Middle East China is building up it’s capability an d not only that. They have us infiltrated to the gills with spies and have compromised many of our government officials and politicians. So China is the big menace. More so than anything in the Middle East.

No solution to any of it. But talk about a gold mine if you want to start some wars for profit. If you own shares in military contracting companies the Middle East is all $$$$$$$!!! With Joe Public easy to fool you can keep these wars going and stick Joe Public with the tab.

Put yourself in Xi Jingping’s shoes. Would you go for it? Use Hong Kong as a test. Push it in the South China Sea. America is bogged down in the Middle East and there is a civil war within it’s government and it’s politically divided. Hmmmm. I think Xi senses some opportunities.

Definitively for tons of cash, but it's a show arsenal of redundant weaponry and I doubt they'll let it go. The Sauds are far too terrified to sell off their weapons that don't get destroyed by cunning Yemenis...

What I meant was at some point the present Saudi regime will collapse or be overthrown.

Thanks for the mindless conspiracy shit! No wonder you're this retarded...

Let's construct complete bullshit to demonize the Kurds now! Just like the Jews...

IDK, maybe. I'd like to think they have some sort of grand reformation but more likely they'll get in a catastrophic war with Iran and get their asses kicked for the first few years...

Oh by the way, the Kurds in "Rojava" were more or less aligned with the Assad regime against ISIS, and never really were pushing for a separate nation-state but for autonomy under a "one-nation two-system" idea. But tell me how fucking smart and well read you are again...

They were a democratic, progressive and even libertarian oasis in a desert of corrupt and parochial dictatorships and cunts. And we stabbed then in the back...

Call me pessimistic but I completely gave up on any possibility of reformation when they hacked a Washington Post journalist into pieces using a surgical saw in their embassy on the orders of the Crown Prince - i.e. the guy that is going to be taking over next.

The fact that Trump turned a blind eye to that is beyond fucking outrageous.

I'm not optimistic either. They would have to lose was war with successive battlefield defeats without the West there to save them...

Yeah. Jeffery Epstein and his operation was conspiracy shit two years ago. Guess what. The story was killed. Lot’s of people knew what was going on but the editors were killing the story.

    How’s that for conspiracy?

We needed Saudi Arabia when we went off the gold standard in 1971. We made a deal that OPEC would only sell their oil in US Dollars and we would cut our domestic production. The result is the US had more money to spend and boy did we ever spend. You can run a bigger economy with petro dollars than you can gold. The military industrial complex loved it. We could outspend the Soviets and break their back. The CIA also put lot’s of US loyal despots in power to keep the Soviets from taking Middle East oil.

So that’s our relation to the Middle East. It was about backing the US Dollar with the oil there and keeping the asoviets out of it.

Follow the money. If you think any government really cares about the horrible stuff that goes on in the Middle East you are mistaken. Governments only care about power and most government officials are motivated by power and money. Don’t think those people have any measure of benevolence. They will tell you they do if that’s what you want to hear from them.

Have you ever been to China? China has had internal conflicts for it’s whole history. The thing is the Chinese Communist Party rules with an iron fist. Not very easy to overthrow and the western world now has it’s economy tied up with the Chinese economy and they have had 40 years to play the nice guy and infiltrate our institutions and compromise our government officials.

China is not a easy problem to deal with. The Chinese are way better at cyber warfare than we currently are. So believe me. We have our hands full and on top of that we are politically infighting over partisan bullshit and we can’t get unstuck from the Middle East bullshit we never should have gotten into. Also the Federal Reserve panicked and dropped rates because it’s all they can do. Half the banks in the west are insolvent due to bad loans. So we are skirting a depression if that financial bubble pops due to panic.

So we really can’t whip our dick out and pound XI over the head.
