    Terminator: Dark Fate

    meh.

Skip it. Wait for Redbox. Went at 1:30 pm the other day, matinee price was too much to spend. Now I have to let my friend pick the next movie we see, AND I gotta pay for it

The movies after Judgement Day don't exist in this timeline.

Effects ok, story a little derivative. Score by Junkie XL/Tom Holkenborg is good, watch his Studio Time clips on YouTube.

Supposedly there were sequels planned but after the less than stellar opening weekend they have been cancelled already. Cameron must be devoting all his ideas to fifty more Avatar movies. He didn't seem to spend much effort on this one.

Looks like its going to lose a bunch of money despite being not too bad.

They need to send a terminator into the past to tell studio execs that no terminator movie is going to live up to T2.

The big movie question this week is whether to go to the cinema for The Irishmen or wait a couple of weeks and watch it on Netflix. The 210 minute runtime is making me lean to the later...

My friend picked the next movie...she says it's the Tom Hanks Mr. Rogers movie. Damn. I was hoping for Ford v Ferrari...

        SPOILER ALERT

Apparently the anal scene near the end is one of the most hardcore ever in mainstream cinema.

Couldn't be bothered with the Terminator series after Salvation, and neither T3 nor Salvation were flicks I particularly enjoyed, although I liked parts of T3: neither were even remotely as good as Terminator and Terminator 2. From what I've heard about the most recent 2, I wasn't missing anything by giving them a miss.

I saw the trailer for Dark Fate a few weeks ago when I saw Joker, and had no reaction to the trailer in the theater other than an eye roll: I have the feeling if I bothered to see Dark Fate, at the end I'd feel that it would have been better to just rewatch one of the first two Terminator flicks.

Same deal with the Alien series: after Alien 3, the franchise has pretty much sucked save for Prometheus, and the sequel to Prometheus was boring, so I'm just done with it...no longer have the compulsion to keep watching these franchise sequels hoping they will somehow rise up to the first couple of movies in the series only to be proved wrong time and time again. Enjoyed the first Fast And The Furious movie. The rest? Sucked balls.

Movies that are nothing more than stale leftovers with mold growing on them. Seems like the entertainment industry in general sucks. If they would put as much effort into finding a decent script as they do pimping products and propaganda they might be able to make some decent films.

There are some very good films being made, but this recycled action/superhero shit warmed over twice after being ridden hard and put away wet is nonsense...

I think this is a pretty good time for movies, there is something decent to see at the cinema most weeks. It's like music you just have to search for it a bit harder than you used to but there is actually probably more out there than there used to be plus more tools to find it with the www.

I don't usually watch superhero movies but if it keeps cinemas running then great, it's only annoying when the multiplexes fill 10 screens with the same thing.

I'd agree there is some good stuff being put out, but most of the decent stuff I've seen in the last several years has been released either via Amazon Prime, or Netflix or other streaming, non-traditional (cinema) release avenues.

Dunno about where you guys are, but the multiplex closest to me is just literally one superhero movie after another, or animated movies "fun for kids to watch but they have clever dialogue for adults, too!!" or lame action flick junk for the most part. And I literally have zero interest in any of those three genres.

Best movie I saw in the theaters in the last 3 years was easily Manchester By The Sea.

It's getting some great reviews even from people with no interest in cars or racing.

In the UK it's called Le Mans 1966 because apparently you need permission to use trademarks in a movie title.

Terminator wasn't HORRIBLE. It was entertaining, if not a complete rehash.

Old Linda Hamilton needs to lay off the Marb Reds. Woof. Looking and sounding a bit rough these days.
