That could work up to a point, I see that in Germany there is a culture of drive ins and people are doing it already for movies.
The essential problem though is that for live music to work a lack of social distancing is precisely what it requires. Same goes for live comedy and dancing in a nightclub - anyone who has experienced any of these when they have not been busy (I certainly have from the stage ) knows there is a tipping point you need.

Closest drive in theater is about 20 miles away in Shelton. Haven't been there since the 1990s but from what I remember, I can't imagine live bands playing there at all. Though the casino down the road from there gets the occasional previously big name acts, so who knows... they might be willing to take their shows to the outdoor stage.Eat Us And Smile

I'm really conflicted on this whole wearing masks business... as I understand the common science on this is the masks don't protect you at all from micro or aerosol droplets containing the virus, just large droplets. They "may" just reduce the amount on contagion an infected person might spew, plus reduce the range of dispersing it.
At the grocery store about 98% of people are masked up... went to the Ace Hardware store today and less 20% were wearing masks. I was like to hell with it but my wife insisted I stay masked... SMH"If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”Comment

Being we've been told to not touch our faces, if you're not wearing eye protection I think just a mask is useless.Writing In All Proper Case Takes Extra Time, Is Confusing To Read, And Is Completely Pointless.Comment

I was actually shocked to see how many people were not wearing masks last time I was at the grocery store. At least they were all keeping their "social distance" from each other.
As far as eye protection goes... I'm usually wearing sunglasses when I'm out running around. The would at least keep the airborne buggers from floating head on into my eyes, though I guess there's still the slight risk of them sneaking in from the sides. Oh well, it's not like I'm gonna put hand sanitzer or alcohol wipes in my eyes, so not much more I can do about that.
