In my opinion, the real solution to politicians "playing with you" is term limits.
This might be slightly off topic, but it kills me when very affluent celebrities (as well as politicians) try to portray a grassroots I'm-one-of-you persona when calling for social/political action. Those net worth websites have Ice Cube at $160 million. He's insulated from any consequences or repercussions from any changes in society or courses of action taken.
