If there were just one bluesman/rocker to remember of in 50 years more, that would be Jimi.
He would turn 77 on November 27th. How would he have grown old, in the 70s, 80s, 90s...?
Maybe he unconsciously "knew" he would die young and played so much and recorded so much music in such a short time, who knows?

Yeah I got to talk with Billy Cox who was an army buddy of Jimi’s and played bass with him on the Chitlin circuit and later after Noel Redding left. He said Jimi knew what he wanted to be the whole time and went for it. He said the guy always had a guitar with him. He would play walking down the sidewalk. You are talking major obsession and dedication. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

He was rock and he was funk. Interesting that the rhythm section that established his funk were two white guys from England.Comment
